#3772709 Better Call Saul

You're way closer to the doofus that stole from the city and camped in his backyard than you are to a great con man like Jimmy McGill. Let's see you roll one of your clients on your new big limit before comparing yourself to one of the greats.

More like Chuck McGill, minus the success, talent and social standing.

Oh, they expect me to stick around with hat in hand, singing and dancing at their whim for the next 9 months for the prospect of maybe getting to keep my job.

But jokes on them because I am not going to do that without some new compensation and Iím not going to tell them Iím not going to do that.

What I am going to do is work <=40 hours a week at my normal, high level of quality, until I find a new job where I will start at the time most convenient for myself. When this was all announced they said give them 6-8 weeks to figure stuff out before I do anything, itís been 10, and the timeline now appears to be another 8 weeks before they have a good idea of who they will and wonít keep, so, screw them. Iíve been more than fair.

That's a sucker move.

Yeah, that's why I suggested it. You're the one who's placated when your company walks all over you, by them tossing you some crumbs. I figured a sucker move would be right up your alley.

I remember watching ping pong during I believe the Beijing Olympics, and the color guy noted that there were like 50 Chinese players who didn't make the team who were ranked ahead of anyone on the next best team (Korea?). That's what Texas brisket is. There are a million morbidly obese Texans making brisket in gas station parking lots right now, each of them humiliating the entire population of Carolina and KC and anyplace else that dabbles in barbecuing beef. Stick to pork, boys, it's a lot easier.

Looking into Q39, not my scene. I judge a BBQ place by their brisket, and here is what I now know about theirs:

- They use a TON of unnecessary seasoning, before and after cooking
- They use a Texas Crutch, which suggests to me that aren't committed to craftsmanship
- They encourage the use of sauce. What are they trying to hide?

I'm sure it's delicious, especially if you like KC-style sauce swimmers, but this is not how you make brisket.

Coming from someone who thinks the world's best Mexican food is Chipotle, I'll take your food recommendations with a bushel of salt

I wish Tilty still posted, because I feel like this would be a key moment for him to show some growth. The idea of old white people having life experience that's valuable to younger people has always seemed like a joke to me because they don't generally seem to learn any lessons from experiences anyway, so I'd be curious if having his loyalty rewarded by being passed over for a promotion at his predatory lending job and then getting fired from Big Shed for getting cancer has caused him to start giving the opposite advice of what had previously cost him my respect.

Also, let's talk about the biggest fraud in the realm of sandwiches: The philly cheese steak. Everyone loves a good cheese steak, right? It's impossible to screw one up, right? You can buy them in most restaurants in every city, and as long as they use reasonable-quality ingredients, it's going to be delicious.

The problem comes when you mention that you had a philly cheese steak to the wrong person, and you're corrected that if you didn't get it from philly, it's not a philly cheese steak. It's a level of snobbery that I'll accept from some NYC ******* telling me how terrible pizza is everywhere else, but like with Philly's entire identity, they've ripped off all of their idol's terrible flaws, without having the goods to back it up.

"Philly" cheese steaks are disgusting. Like the steamed cheeseburger, its signature -- a foul-tasting artificial cheese sauce -- was born of an entire culture's inability to melt cheese in real time. I know some people will cape for local places with real cheese, and admit that Pat's and Geno's are tourist trash, but if that's the case, these locals need to get that message out there stronger, because their reputation has already been destroyed by this.

If people from Buffalo corrected you that you didn't have real Buffalo wings, they'd just get laughed at. But they don't do that, because they understand that their identity is a sham and that black people in ATL cucked them out of their only claim to fame. Philly needs to shut up, learn how to melt cheese, and get back to me when they figure out how to cook even a single thing better than I can make it in my yard.

Ive always said the only thing better than an office relationship is breaking up an office relationship by sleeping with another coworker.

Got then final approval and closing documents earlier this week. Iíll wire the closing money next Monday and then we close Thursday AM and I take immediate possession. My family is bringing the stuff I have in storage in Iowa that Friday so Iím going to wait to move some bigger things from my current place rather than trying to do it myself that Thursday.

American Made 10/10*

Tom Cruise does it again. Is there anything this man can't do (besides get items off the top shelf)?

*Full disclosure: I haven't actually seen the movie yet, but will be watching it this weekend most likely.
