Buying A Poker Table

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I want to start having some cash games at my house with my buddies but I do not currently own a poker table. I want to spend a few hundred dollars on a decent table but don't want to break the bank for one. When any of us run a game at one another's house, we don't take a rake or anything like that so recouping the money that way is not in the equation.I guess I'd be willing to spend up to $500 for a table that seats 8-10 players. I think I am leaning towards the octagon style tables that seat 8 but would get the oval table that seat 10. I am open to suggestions, but prefer a table that has legs that fold or collapses on some way. What do you guys have at your house whom hold games? Any pics would be helpful or links to websites that you recommend.Thanks.

B1002441197.jpgThis one is probably not the one you want.... it is kind of a pain to deal from the ends, but it is a good value for the price.

yeah I was able to get local pickup and I got it for about $350. It is not the nicest table ever, but we have logged 200 hours on it and we haven't had any issues yet.

Yeah I just found pokeroutlet.com and its like $360ish with free shipping. Did you get the green or burgundy felt? I think I'd lean towards the burgundy myself, but don't care too much.

If you have some basic wood working skills you can always just make your own. The plans are all over the net.http://www.homepokertourney.com/tables_build.htmYou can buy the felt and foam from http://www.pokersuppliesltd.com/ then all you need is a couple sheets of decent plywood and your all set.One of the tables I built.pokertable1.jpg

That looks nice. I am not crafty with my wood working skillz and am too lazy to build one.

Is it cheaper to build your own? How much does it cost if you buy all the materials yourself
It's about 250$ unless you go crazy with the upgrades. Add nickel plated cup holders, a toke box, and a built in chip tray for the dealer and you can easily spend 500$. Of course you have a kick *** casino grade table when you are done.

Here is a link to the table I purchased a little over a year ago.http://www.pokeroutlet.com/p781_poker_table.htmlIt doesn't have collapsible legs like you wanted, but it's a solid table for a decent price.
That is exactly the one I am looking at. Just worried about the leg room...does the stand for it get in the way on the ends?

I have a friend who bought one with the collapsible legs. It was very sturdy and best of all transportable. However, my favorite was a table that some friends built. They matched their table to their living room decor. Very, very beautiful but you would have to have some serious skills to do something like they did.

Go with a 60" circular table, with no permanent dealer you cannot deal from the ends. At 60" you can squeeze 10 and fit 8 niceley.
round tableThat is a true statement. I saw this one. The good thing is it seats 9...probably 8 very comfortably...and has pretty deep cup holders. Plus the table folds up for storage.
