nutzbuster 7
ZOMG ... it's a new blog from DANIEL!http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-jour...&ucat=&I was wondering if Poker Stars was going to let you blog here anymore .I'm sure I echo most sentiments when I say I can't wait for this next installment of HSP. Such a great show. Not a huge Jamie Gold fan but that guy does have some serious stones and makes some sick moves at times. Also totally agree about the "show one, show all" B.S. Our local casino is starting to adopt this for the cash games and it infuriates me. Sometimes I'll do it and some of the dealers will not allow it, others will, I call the floor over sometimes and they all seem confused...it's so stupid. Insane rule.Favorite blog moment... Speaking of kickbacks and endorsing products, Phil Hellmuth played with me in HSP all of yesterday. He let us all know that he has a new wine label coming out, and also a new soap bar, a candy bar, a bottled water, Phil Hellmuth suspenders, the Phil Hellmuth fridge (be careful, if you tilt the fridge it will get red hot), the Phil Hellmuth Grill (much better than George Foreman's), and a few other products. He also informed us that he patented the "super quick call when you flop a set." If any of you out there call an all in bet quickly by sloppily pushing all of your chips to the middle, be weary, apparently you will owe Phil royalties.lmao. I TOTALLY can't wait for the suspenders.Awesome you're golfing again...be careful with the golf aids, as many do more harm than good. (unless of course you end up knocking off 10 strokes). Is that thing you're using the laser beam one? Leadbetter is legit so heres to hoping that contraption works for ya. (edit: found it....pardon the spam... http://www.intheholegolf.com/store/dlss.html )GL on the felt. G L on the links. See ya out there in a few weeks. B) (oh yeah...HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDI!) tizzerd 0
"Today's lineup appears to be much tougher, with a special twist that I'm not sure I should mention in the blog. What this "twist" will do to the game remains to be seen, but it could potentially cause for some monster pots. I'm not scheduled to play the full day today, but I'm basically on call for an open seat as one becomes available."is he talking about them raising the min buyin to 500k? barrec 0
i agree with daniel's take on being able to show one or both of you cards heads up. the slippery slope he painted is a bit extreme, but he is exactly right that it is (can be) an effective tool.it would also make the game far more interesting to watch, but i think i would only want to see pros doing it, because i imagine only a few players would be able to do it well and effectively. also, i wonder if there is a huge difference between playing cash games and showing a card or two and playing a tourny and showing the hand. i understand trying to have uniform rules to follow to keep the tourny rolling smoothly - especially if it's WSOP-sized fields. 13CARDS 0
I'm very happy that during tournament play at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, players CAN show either/both of their hole cards during heads-up situations. Our tournament director acknowledges the fact that most places have a "no show" rule, but that most places have it wrong. At NFCR, we don't mind being different if it means we are better!! socalpoker_j 1
On Matusow's show, he mentions some banker wiring in 900k for HSP. Jman28 (Phil Galfond) was buying into today game for the minimum 500k, and didn't get to play that much according to his friend from 2+2:HSP 4 link here (IrieGuy is his friend): Also has a few interesting hands:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat...;gonew=1#UNREAD"This just in:Jman got bumped from the show today. Not flamboyant enough I guess. Bummer.IrieguyWait a second... that means Jman is walking around Vegas with $500K in his pocket and nothing to do. Gotta go.."It also seems like Haralabos Voulgaris played today and lost a little.
vbnautilus 48
Great blog, Daniel. Shows how good Daniel is for a show like this. Compare to phil hellmuth's blog about the PAD filming. In addition to it making me slightly dumber (to be expected), it did not leave wanting to see the show... I think he gave away too much. Daniel on the other hand left this full of intrigue and suspense, and left me really wanting to see this HSP.

grocery_mony 8
Straddle and restraddle every hand is insane. So if this is going on all night the min buy in of 100k is effectively only about 40bb. Should make for some very entertaining hands.

All_In 0
i always thought the reason u can't show cards in tourneys is collusion. never really thought about it, just what i heard. not sure why it wouldn't be collusion in a cash game then.i remember watching a hand on tv where tj cloutier berates a player for mentioning he had a K during the hand. tj said that he could get a penalty if in fact he did have a K in the hole. he said he better be lying.are these situations similar? (in which case this is fine IMO).....or was he out of the hand, already folded, and just talking at the table with a buddy while 2 others were still in a hand HU?(in which case, very NOT cool....).Point is , If you are in a tough hand, and are Heads UP, you should be able to do just about anything you want to try to get some info., including a subtle (or not so subtle) flashing of one of your cards if you think that will help. Whether in a cash game or a tournament should not matter.

TJ Cloutier said that was breaking the rules because he thought the guy was telling his opponent he had a K. Phil Hellmuth was also at the table and said it was perfectly legal.
