hblask 1
It'd be kind of cool to play this, but it's a bit steep. But it is for charity, so it's easier to justify. Maybe I'll enter one of the qualifier STTs. I just want to see what it feels like to sit at a table playing poker with Phil Ivey, so that I'm prepared when I switch careers in a couple years. It's just a couple miles from my house, and we don't usually get events like this...Charity Poker Tournament

magnus72 0
It looks like you put up $2500 and $2000 of it is for charity, the other $500 is thrown into the prize pool.Pretty spendy just to hang out with some basketball players and Phil Ivey.

But if I could win the qualifier, (it's for charity, and $275 is not that much to give to a charity), it's be fun to see Phil and some other pros play in person, just to see how it looks up close and live (as opposed to the editted highlight hands on TV). I am not sure where you came up with the $500 into the prize pool. I am thinking of playing in this.

I am thinking of playing in this.Yeah, based on 200 entrants, so that'd be 200X$500, so that's $100,000 in the prize pool, with half that going to first apparently. In a field that size it'd be pretty difficult to get past the 4 or 5 pros listed, but hey, anyone could get a run of luck. I wonder if the celebrities play for free in exchange for a chance at the pot? Or would they have to give it to charity if they win?
Uppie_ 0
come on now the pros will most likely donk off chips intentionally after a while. So they can go play in the HUGE 30-60 game at canterbury lol. but seriously they won't play to win it unless they have big last longer bets or something riding on it.
