Royal_Tour 0 Posted March 11, 2005 Share Posted March 11, 2005 After reading many posts on this forum, i've come to realize something.A lot of the players (wont name names) seem to think they are among the best on this site, or even among the best online in general. Yet the amount of criticizing that comes from these "great" players is ridiculous.I'm an artist/designer, and i have had many compliments on my work, and skill. I've also seen a lot of young talent, and I've also seen a lot of wannabe designers with zero talent. Yet my advice always remains the same for both. I find it almost impossible to put a fellow designer down, no matter how badly they suck.Just my thoughts on these players who claim to be "great" Link to post Share on other sites
rollito 0 Posted March 11, 2005 Share Posted March 11, 2005 i aggree......seems like everyone who posts here makes over $1000 dollars a week playing online poker......i mean i don't find it unreasonable that some people do....but all these so called great players making all this money are all playing like .25-.5 or .5-1 games.......hard to make that much in these games over a long period of time no matter how good you are....and you make a good point in that a real pro in any field would never try and discourage anyone to try and pursue that profession Link to post Share on other sites

I'm sure Smash's dry wit is prominently involved though.*** I am by no means the guy's friend either, but I do know this. He has personally helped me a ton with my low-limit online games, and I'm definitely a better cardplayer for it.I don't think he has 2600+ posts because he thinks he's the greatest. jayistheman 0 Posted March 11, 2005 Share Posted March 11, 2005 i dont play the highest stakes..but i 3 table NL 100 nightly. add the occasional session in NL 200. i've been seen playing the 3/6 NL on prima on the very rare occasion... i once ventured to the 5/10 NL on poker room, but was grossly underbankrolled, and got railed.i also play the $300 NL game at borgatais that too small? if so then criticize away..... rot in hell while you're at it you pompous ****.... why does it matter what stakes people play? Without naming names, the original poster just said it would be better if we could keep our criticisms to be more constructive. We should be sharing ideas here to make us all better players for the community that we are.Then, someone *may or may not* have implied that Smash is a jerk, and people (myself included, in the interests of decency) have risen to defend him. All this without Smash ever being directly involved in the discussion. Now we're going off on the "who's got the biggest cojones" tangent and in general, very not-nice things are being said by all.Jayson and Daniel will be upset to see all of this... and somewhere Smash is laughing because some people are caring way too much.So what are you trying to accomplish? Too often, people seem to forget this is a place to debate ideas and strategies about poker and offer advice....it is not a place to belittle people. Anyways, I have been an avid reader of this forum for a month now and it is time for me to post. I am just out of college but I have a very healthy bankroll because I am really good at sports betting (much better than I am at poker!). I play mostly 10-20 on party poker and in casinos when I get a chance. I only like no-limit for tournaments really. One thing I notice is that I often have trouble switching gears between limit and no-limit. Anyone have advice for this problem? Link to post Share on other sites
