I just wanted to say hi to everyone from "old school fcp". Not sure where everyone is these days, but you should know who you are. Here's a hint: Check raising on the turn with j10 in an unraised pot when the board is Ace King Queen Ace is STILL + EV in my opinion, lol.

Hey Steve. Dropped down from 20/40 Full Ring to 10/20 6-max. I was up about 140BB through my first 3k hands, but took a tough 180BB downswing this week. I haven't really been playing tournies much lately because I don't have the time anymore, so I'm basically just playing cash games right now.

I was playing 15/30 for a while, and decided to step up to 20/40 full ring. Because there were only like 4 games running at a time, and because I felt I needed to work on shorthanded play more, I dropped back down to 10/20 6-max for now. I think I can beat 20/40 full ring, but it is pretty much full of nits, and I wouldn't make that much profit at that level. The experience I gain from 6-max is very important as well.

Things are going good steve7, except for losing a fifth of my bankroll last month. O wait.....Is this the thread where old schoolers ***** about what's happening? or the thread where old schoolers ***** about new schoolers?

what happened to Akishore?
He turned pro and made millions.I like Akishore a lot as well. I used to have tons of fun nutbarring in the .50-1 games on party with him.He was/is a bright guy, that's for sure.

i talk to hiim online still from time to time.last time i talked to him he had been on a break from poker for a while...i'm not sure if he has been back, but I'm taking that as a "no" since he hasn't been around here either.- Jordan

Akishore was a cool dude, not too sure if poker really woulda worked out for him on a professional level, imo his game kinda revolved around math rather than just playing poker. I could be wrong though, didn't get a chance to play him too often. Don't get me wrong, I still think he's a good player, just not sure how he would have handled playing for a living. He seems to have many other things going for him though, so he should be just fine. There's a lotta posters from the old days who aren't on much anymore like WRTO and Smash, never see them anymore. I don't really post too often myself either, I guess I've just spent more time playing than slacking off lately, which is probably a good thing.

Funny that you say that about Akishore. I often would go into the strat section and the guy posted more than anyone I have ever seen. His outlook on poker seemed similar to Andy Bloch's. I use that comparison because of the MIT situation (both students from there).Aseem's game seemed to be largely math based with little feel to it. This seems to be the case for a lot of young internet players who haven't ventured into the casinos yet.But again, I did like him a lot and do miss him.WRTO I hear is doing quite well in Vegas. Smash is well, he's Smash. I liked Smash. I found the guy to be both harsh and hillarious. Neither of which bothered me in the least. I wish that he was around more often. So, if you're reading this Mr. Smasharoo, start posting again.
