Forgive me if this has been asked a hundred times already, but, I'm curious, and asking somebody like you is the only way I'll ever find out.The WPT likes to toss a million bucks on the table when it gets down to HU.I can't believe they give that cash to the players, they write a check, right? Also, if you cash in another country, you must have to pay their tax, our tax, and maybe some state tax. Are there places that one wouldn't even want to play because the tax structure is too high? While I have you here, if you're still reading, lol, in places like Aruba the players are prolly staying in the same place/area. Is there a major blow out party after the final game?

The U.S. gives you a tax credit for foreign taxes paid. So if there is an income tax in this country that you're playing in, you will likely owe taxes to that country, but not to the U.S. Obviously there's a lot more to it than that, but that's basically the deal.

What Hobbes said.Of course you can get a check for your winnings, I would guess that they give you the option of taking cash though. Just a guess.Your friend,PMJackson21

A check would be the wisest; look what poor Daniel had to go through coming home from that Aruba trip with all his cash. Damn near got put in a Guitmo holding cell.

I am pretty sure you can get a combo of cash and check. You know, $5k to throw around in the bar after the final table- a check to bring home :club:

When I won my multi million tourney, they just wired it directly to my account. Wait, I think I forgot to post about that tournament. Wait, that never happened,it was actually a $5 SNG and I finished 2nd, but they wired it straight to my acct.

I heard an interview with courtney friel one day and she said that the money is in fact fake that they put on the table.

The guy who came in second at the WPT event here in Reno wanted his entire payout in cash. It was $529,300. We gave it to him. Surprisingly, he wasn't jumped while he was in the parking lot.

I think a lot of players take their payout in Chips as well. Say you win a Million bucks at the WPT Championship at Bellagio, you can just get a million in chips for your lockbox. I'm pretty sure you can do any combo you like Cash/Check/Chips.

You are given the option at most casinos for either cash, casino chips, a check, or wired to an account of your choosing. I _think_ that is it, besides for perhaps the online tournaments.I am not familiar with how Party or Stars paid their players at their respective events, but UB puts the money in your online account. You have no other option available to you and it is stated in the tournament rules. Come to think of it though, I'm not sure how they would handle players who don't have UB accounts...Maybe create one for them? Anyway, it's why 2 years ago Layne was on UB playing the NL cash games a lot post-Aruba.

Party and Stars do it the same way.
