BigDMcGee 3,352
I'm what most outsiders would call a hardcore conservative. (Not BG style, but whatever) The far majority of my conservative friends have disliked TB for as long as I can remember. They have viewed him as being liberal on many important issues, like taxes, abortion, etc. On the other side of the coin, most of my liberal friends also don't like him, because of public union busting, right-to-work, the fact that he's not in their party. However, there is a huge portion of the state that will continue to vote for him because there hasn't been a better option. Why do you ask? Wondering how he will do in China? I was just curious. I was randomly thinking how crazy it was that he'd had so many terms as governor, and the idea popped into my mind that he might low key be the head of some super powerful and corrupt political machine in Iowa, that no one knew about because no one gives a shit about Iowa. Ron_Mexico 4,219
Your Florida resident and his house are fine. We even have power. Colby took off for GA and I know power is out in his area. Ours too, but we seem to be getting lucky on the power front. Didn't want to sweat for the next week. Well, sweat more than usual.
Essay21 2,385
Glad to hear you survived TSOTC. What's the word on Miami Beach? Any chance Lebatard and dem boys are back on air this week?
brvheart 1,752
because no one gives a shit about Iowa. Why do you have to be so hurtful?

BigDMcGee 3,352
Why do you have to be so hurtful? I didn't mean to make that as harsh as it sounded. No one gives a shit about Nebraska, either. I just meant that a corrupt, petty fiefdom is more likely to slip by in a place like Iowa than Pennsylvania or California
brvheart 1,752
I've never eaten at a Chipotle. I do enjoy Qdoba though.

Napa Lite 3,278
The closest chipotle to my office is like 9 miles away. Also, I try not to eat fast food. Not that I eat much better or anything but the value isn't there for me.
Essay21 2,385
Chipotle isn't fast food. How dare you? Had a 730 meeting this morning. I'm shot for the rest of the day. I'm s man of routine, and taking me out of my routine renders me useless.
Napa Lite 3,278
I just had my monthly meeting with the head honcho. It went fine. Always a little nervous about it because so far my monthly write ups have been a last minute deal and I haven't had the time to fully understand everything and be able to anticipate all his questions. I'm taking off early today for a dentist appointment. Need to get crowns put on these two root canals I had earlier this year. If only my teeth were champs like Strats. The dentist is part of national chain and is about an hour away but their crown prices were hundreds less than the places I quoted in town. It's annoying to drive 40 miles but the savings is worth it. All out of pocket, of course. Luckily with the new job i was able to double dip my flex account this year, seeing as how I had already exhausted my dental deductible and precious flex account on the aforementioned root canals. brvheart 1,752
Our FSA here at work is a use or lose it deal. You can only roll over $500. What a scam that is. We need greater competition between our health insurers. My insurance 15 years ago was 20x better than it is today.
Essay21 2,385
I want the record to show that my teeth are champions too. Haven't been to the doctor in 10 years. Not sure what my plan is or how it works.
Napa Lite 3,278
Actually what we need is a single payer system that doesn't require FSA's or HSA's or insurance plans.
