just me or a lot tighter since they added the 6 Max tables?and man, this month sux major ass for me.
why don't you play the six max games?i hear they are very good.
2/4? or lower?I've only played a litte 2/4 6 so farYeah, I know .5/1 and 1/2 are jucey.I spent limited time there building a 2/4 bankroll.Limited because, seriously went on a tear, and got $2000 to play 2/4 FullI know I'm not a great palyer and depend on bad palyers for my profits, but maybe I'm too stubborn (prideful) to leave 2/4 full yet. Afterall it is just a short term observation. I was just wondering if others had noticed.

i was talking about the 2/4 game. i've read several posts on 2+2 about how juicy it is, which makes sense because it is probably packed with full-ring fish.

this is a little off topic and sorry if I hijak you thread but, isn't it funny to read all the posts on monday morning about how everyone is quitting online limit poker and there are 50 bad beat stories and that all the sites are rigged.IMO it is just the large amount of weekend players, there are so many more fish playing who are not folding so there are that many more bad beats. I find this true at the B&M casinos also. For this reason I usually do not play on the weekends but if I do I feel that I have to adjust my gamehas anyone else noticed this about weekend play?

yes, we paly is fishierwhich made me even more concerned about the seemingly TAGGier tables at 2/4 Full now. Also, not geting paid off on big hands, tighter palyers making good folds. Really stunkFound a 37/5/36 table last night though.$130 profit in 115 hands.so, avoided the 100BB downswing....

congrats I couldn't find a table that I liked and took the 50 BB downswing for the weekend, could of been worse

nit
From what i've heard the 2/4 has tightened up considerably. Action players are naturally going to play the sh tables since it allows them to play more hands and be more aggressive. But yea just play 2/4 6 max. PS 2/4 6 max is awful and no way PP can be any better.

I've also noticed that 2/4 full sucks now. I've made the decision that this is the excuse I need to focus on being a successful six-max player. If you want donkish full-ring games sometimes you could still play .5/1 just for the fun of it, that's pretty donkified. Or you could put some money on Pacific.

come'on the only solution cant be "play 6 Max?"I knew I was only winning because of bad palyers.Damn, you all are supposed to help me beat good players too.
I haven't found much of a problem at Party 2/4. I've dropped $100 here or there, and gained $150 here or there. The preflop play is a little tighter, but I can still find a couple of tables with some Tazzies, some Fishies, and one or two Smileys/Dice. The bombs don't last too long anymore, which is a shame.I do have to defend my blinds more recently than I'm used to, but that's a pretty small adjustment really. My big hands still tend to get paid well, because most 2/4 players still suck postflop. Probably including me, on occassion. So my advice? Keep on keeping on. There are still a lot of fish at 2/4, and some of the non-fish still play poorly (either too weak or too strong) postflop.

Played a little at Party today for the first time since the upgrade ... a little tighter but not TOO bad. Certainly not the TAG-hell that is Absolute or Crypto full ring.Biggest adjustment is not being able to pre-select good tables.

Adjust your game. When I am sitting at a table full of tight "good" players whether it is live or online I play looser then Pamela Andersons... Poker Fundamentals 101: Play the opposite of the table. When a table is tight, play loose, when they are loose play tight.Want to get your good hands paid off in a tight limit game? Fire into a made hand once 'n a while with garbage. The good players will see that and mark you as donktastic.Just my two sense. Want to make real money? Play the 6-max. :club:

This is old logic, it's more specific than that in Theory of Poker. Something like semi bluff more against tighter players, betting becomes strictly for value against looser players, etc.I'll dig out the book in the stats class i have in 5 minutes and find that section.

From TOP, end of ch. 16."Scrap the general notion that you play tight in a loose game and loose in a tight game and use the following guidelines instead. In a loose games you must tighten up on your bluffs and ssemi bluffs, but loosen up on your legitimate hands. You bluff less, but you bet for value more. You also call with more hands and play more drawing hands. In a tight game you loosen up on your bluffs and semi bluffs, but you must tighten up your legitimate hand requirements. You bluff more, but you bet for value less. You also call less and give up more quickly with drawing hands."

Simply awesome. Thanks, Wingy (and Mr. Sklansky, of course).

Yes. Also notice how Party BB jackpot always builds all weekend, only to hit on late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
