Rageur 0
My folks are offering to go to Vegas with my wife and I. We are all wanting to stay at the Bellagio, but it may become too pricey. My father mentioned that he would cover $2000 of the travel and hotel expenses, and I'm trying to work with that... 4 of us flying from columbus, Ohio to Vegas. We plan on leaving march 9 and returning march 12, and are looking to maximize our time. Any suggestions/secrets to find a good deal/package and be close to some card rooms to hit a tourney and some cash games? I already know how to expedia.com it...just looking for some inside info if possible. We want to be on the main strip, but also want to consider price... Thanks all!
dna4ever 2
I'm heading there Thursday morning and went the most bargain/economical method I could find. I wasnt really looking to stay in a nice hotel, just to go and have good time and play lots of cards and meet some friends ....Paid $99 each way for non stop flights through SouthwestStaying at Binions (on Fremont St not the strip). There poker rate is $29/night, staying for 3 nights.Entire airfare/accomodations < $
gwoo10 0
I got a killer deal for May 7-10 through Expedia. We are staying Sun-Wed and got the airfare from St. Louis and hotel (Monte Carlo) for $383/person. I would say Expedia is the best way to go. It is also cheaper if you stay during the week as opposed to weekends. I spent a few hours just plugging in new dates to find these rates. Good luck!!
Guest
I would check out the Imperial Palace, which is located right across from Ceasar's Palace and is literally right in the middle of the strip! They also have a bar in front of hotel that offers 2 for 1 drinks!!! which is unheard of here in Toronto. Every hotel has an AYCE buffet. I highly suggest the Rio's buffet. It's a seafood buffet and about $40Us. Or if you want cheap you can have lobster tail and steak at the StarDust for around $10.00-$12.00.I would also recommend going to Old Vegas at night. You need to check outBinions and the Golden Nugget which are the "Home of Poker"

nhlfan 0
Def. check out Expedia.com. I have been to Vegas 8 times in the past 2 years, and I have always got the best flight/hotel deals on there. Just my two cents.
Eclypse 0
Staying at Binions (on Fremont St not the strip). There poker rate is $29/night, staying for 3 nights. Played there a little durring Superbowl weekend. Pretty nice, busy cardroom. And, the 3/6 was surprisingly soft (maybe just because it was Superbowl weekend though).
wvapoker 0
I would check this site for poker room info. They also have a list of tournaments.http://www.allvegaspoker.com/index.phpI played at Alladin/Planet Hollywood. It was nothing special, but down to earth. As far as the hotel rooms go you get what you pay for. The center of the action is area of the strip that the Mirage and TI are located. If you stay down towards the Luxor/MGM/Mandalay Bay you with have a little walk to get to most of the place. When I go again I think I will stay in a Harrah's property over a MGM/Mandalay Bay property.

When you get there tell the poker room manager you want the poker room rate and they will keep track of your time, usually its like 4 hours a day expected. When you check out they will give you a comp voucher for the discounted room rate. I'm not sure how many other hotels have Poker Room Rates, but I would definitely call any places you are interested in staying at. Good luck.
VegasBone 0
Well....I guess it depends how cheap you want to go. The best deals for the location on the strip are usually found at The Excalibur, Tropicana, and Flamingo.....with the Flamingo probably the best location poker wise....across the street from Caesar's Palace with Bellagio to one side and the Mirage to the other. There is some significant construction going on near the really nice resorts. Project City Center is right next door to the Bellagio and The Palazzo is being built next to the Venetian......I don't know how loud the construction is and if it is noticeable in the hotel rooms or not.If you are looking for a decent quality stay, but looking for a bit cheaper than the Bellagio....you might want to take a look at Paris or The Mirage. mclark340 0
When staying with the guys I have been known to stay anywhere, but with my wife...not a chance. If anyone esle in the family plays poker...call the Mirage poker room and get the poker room rate for the nights in question. You then need to play an average of 7 hours per room per night. If no poker players...then look into places like Bally's.I am a big fan of Paris when I stay with my wife.Keep in mind that the pool is out of season, but the room should still be clean and up to date. Places like Binions (stayed there for a night in January because the strip was booked) and IP are dumps. The elevators suck, the rooms are old and dirty.Pay a few bucks more and stay at a moderate strip property. You will have a lot more fun and be more comfortable. Plus you lose like 15 minutes off of your life every time you walk into Binions from all of the smoke. As for airfare...use Expedia to find cheap flights...then book directly from the carier and save money. akoff 0
i love freemont street but it is a 20.00 cab ride to the strip and the poker rooms aren't great. if you stay downtown remember the plaza midnight tourny. it is one of my favorites. i always play it at least one night when i am in town...40 to 60 players good chance to make a nice little hit in the old bankroll.....
