NYNellie 0
I have played in B/M casinos my entire life but want to start playing online. I've never played for real money online because a part of me never trusted 'the system' for some reason, but I'm going to give it a shot. Here are some questions:1-Which site would be nice and safe? My first choice is PokerStars - I figure if they have a commercial on TV they've got to be safe right? Any opinons/suggestions? Has anyone had any trouble cashing out?2-I'm thinking about using NetTeller as my medium for my funds. Has anyone had any trouble with them? I am under the impression that all money transfers to and from my bank account are done promtly. Is this how it works?Much thanks in advance for any help/suggestions. Suited_Up 2
No, tv commercials don't mean anything.... But pokerstars is safe.I don't recommend it because I just don't like it there, but it's safe. I prefer Full Tilt, which also has tv commercials, and they're much better quality, if that makes a difference, lol.Neteller is good though, and never had problems.Any major site should be safe though... I've never had problems with any though, whether they're big or small.
Love4hockey 0
You will be safe using any of the major poker companies. PartyPoker has the softest ring games. If you are into tournaments, Fulltilt Poker and Pokerstars both have good structures. I've used Neteller for over a year, and i've never had any problems with it. It will take 3-4 days to transfer money from your bank to your neteller account. Once it is in your account, it will almost be instant to transfer it to the poker site.Good luck playing online. econ_tim 0
to get started, your best bet is a big site like party poker or poker starsas you get the hang of online poker, you can branch out and try some more "niche" sites
Dynon07 0
NYNellie only thing I can warn you about neteller is if you use instacash you have to wait till the transaction clears till you can withdrawl. For example if you bought in for 1000, won like 1500 , and cashed it back to neteller, you could only cash out 500. You have to wait till the 1000 dollars clears till you can withdrawl that amount. Instacashs take like 4-5 business days to clear so make sure you are careful if you really need money off the site quick.Other than that, Neteller is great. 1-2 days from neteller to bank account. Prima sites are my favorite by far because hand speed and stuff, all in cards are flipped, rakeback, etc, but there are some drawbacks. Some people think it looks ghetto and sometimes not too many people playing.Pokerstars is a good site but stingy on some deposit options, plus I can't stand the hand speed there. Full tilt is good, Ultimate Bet is good, I used to play paradise, I really enjoyed it there. Party bothers me for some reason, but rest assured, all the sites are safe. Some people are convinced its rigged, just ignore them.
Abbaddabba 0
The two biggest sites (and by extension, reliable since they're not going bankrupt any time soon) are party and stars, i'd say. Party has better deposit/reload bonuses, and worse players.Stars has better customer service and better point redemption items. Stars is considered by most to be better for tournaments. Party is widely considered to be the best for cash games. (correct me if im wrong)
NYNellie 0
Thanks alot for all of the info. I really do appreciate it.1 more question - is it cool to leave the money at the site or should I put it back via NetTeller after every session? Thanks again in advance for any advice. Abbaddabba 0
Not every session. But if you have a significant amount online, you'll want to keep a fair sized chunk of it in your neteller so that you can take advantage of reload bonuses.

I really do appreciate it.1 more question - is it cool to leave the money at the site or should I put it back via NetTeller after every session? Thanks again in advance for any advice.I would leave a lot of it on the site , I usually just cash out profit every night and leave a set amount on there. Sometimes it might take awhile to get back to neteller, and your money will be in "The Dead Zone", where its not on the site and its not on neteller. Some sites aren't instant cashouts to neteller so make sure you have enough to play with.

Or move it to another site.Going from the sites to neteller takes a day or two, so you can't be doing it constantly.

I sometimes feel paranoid about having thousands on a poker site, so I often keep a large chunk of my bankroll on Neteller. On the other hand, if you are just playing around with a few hundred, there is no need to put it on Neteller after every session. (Other than piece of mind)If you are playing on Party or Stars, the transfer of $ from the site to Neteller never takes longer than 2 hours.

Sites like Party and Stars take about 2 hours to transfer $ to Neteller. Full Tilt takes around 8-12 hours, FCP takes 2 days. Usually it only takes minutes to deposit from Neteller to a poker site.
