tswing 0
Last night I went to Atlantic City and got there around midnight. At 4 in the morning I hear some mumbling about some hi stakes game and someone points me in the right direction, I go to the corner of the tropicana poker room and who do I see, Ted Forrest playing some guy named "Mangler" in a heads up hold em cash game, they were playing for 3,000 6,000 dollar blinds. Pretty sweet. Never seen the 5,000 dollar gray and 1,000 dollar neon orange chips. Thought it was funny they started that game at 4 in the morning, when I left at about 7AM Forrest was sitting with approximately 500k, that is a lot of money...

bm99 0
I'd like to know if daniel has ever heard of the guy. Most big game players probly know the few other people in the world who actually play that high stakes.
tswing 0
Mangler was a nickname and not a screen name, and surprisingly 95 percent of people in the room had no idea who either of the two were
pokerplayer24 0
so they were playing some HU 6k/12k limit, any idea on results or were never able to find that out?

tswing 0
so they were playing some HU 6k/12k limit, any idea on results or were never able to find that out?Sorry, they were playing 1,500, 3000 blinds, so they were playing 3,000 6,000 hold em. In no way is this accurate but from my glances, it seemed Forrest was up around 200k if not much more when I left. It was definitely pretty sweet just watching the mangler bet the river and Ted just stare him down, he was doing a lot of that, but the mangler was looking at the table a lot with his hat and sunglasses on.Noones too good for the toasted bagels at the trop, I believe that was forrest's food of choice lol

pcarney1 0
On Friday night and Saturday afternoon, Ted was playing 300-600 Stud at the the Taj. From what little I saw, he was cleaning out one of the locals. His stacks of blacks and hundred dollar bills were disgusting.

Well the direction that those people are facing is the direction where they were playing. All the way in the corner, they had a table and they blocked it off with chairs.. I am there all the time and have never seen anything like this either, hence the subject name of my original post. It was really cool and it's not like it was on the board or something man, I'm sure forrest talked to this guy before going to the Trop and set it all up, I can't imagine he just went to the tropicana poker room looking for a game of those stakes. But yea, i'm not lying, and if you think I am just ask one of the floor people next time you go to the Trop. I mean he's just a person, no need to think it didn't happen. radar37 0
I was there last night (Sunday), and Ted Forrest was again playing heads up. A dealer came to my table from dealing that game and said they were playing 5,000 10,000 . I didn't ask the games being played, I didn't really want to be to nosy. They were right in the front corner but the tables immediately surrounding them weren't in use. No one was really bothering them, just a few staff members watching the game making sure everything went smooth. The dealer said the guy he was playing was a high stakes local pro and even seemed surprised I didn't recognize him. This was only my second time playing in a casino so I'm not going to recognize to many people. Enjoyed the poker room. Stayed away from the table games and just stayed there, well there and the bar . Made a couple hundred bucks playing 4 8 limit holdem and 1 2 NL. Also played a very quiet and strange structured 1 5 stud game with no ante for a few minutes which was very interesting after playing with drunk maniacs at 4 8 limit for a long time Only played the stud game for about 10 minutes, I felt bad when I bluffed a poor old lady in a wheelchair out of a 2 dollar pot and decided it wasn't the game for me. The 4 8 game had one drunk maniac that no lie raised blind every hand and bet or raised blind every flop for 2 hours straight. He lost at least 3 hundred but I really had a bad run of cards and couldn't take advatage of it since everyone else at the table was calling down with ace high. He kind of broke the game up/ scared other players away and then wandered away from the table and I got sick of waiting for him to come back after I played a rich drunk lady heads up and took her last 60 bucks or so. Anyway didn't mean to turn this into a trip report but I had a good time and it was cool seeing Ted Forrest playing 20 feet away.
