Guest
I dont have a productive answer...I just want to speculate on how many answers will contain the word 'rigged' over/under = ?
WhatArunAA 0
the reason why I am much better at tournaments as opposed to cash games is because I dont believe I can handle the financial swings that cash games bring.. maybe you have the same problem??I believe ivey said something to the tune of " the moment you think of the chips that you are playing with as a car, house, etc . you are dead meat"
Canary3 1
you play 15/30 at the casino and you dont realize what goes on in online cash games..... of course ur hands arnt going to hold up as much.... everyone is in the pot..... what limit are you playing online? bcook823 0
There are many post on this very subject on this forum. I feel that if you have a problem steaming from those beats, then it will be tough for you to win at online cash games. If your doing well at tournaments then don't play the cash games. bettisrules 0
i generally play 10/20 online the swings are huge i findi was just wondereing why there are more showdowns on the river online like at the casino maybe 25% of the time there is a showdown but it seems like closer to 50% of the time the hand is shown down just another question i found that say i have ak and i flop an ace i will generally win the pot with top pair but playing 6 handed online i cant seem to win onlinei really like the comment about what ivey said about being dead meat i think that might be part of the problem

You have to pay extra for the secret password, like everyone else does, to get the suckouts and to beat the people who don't pay extra. I'm not supposed to say anything, though. FCP Rule #1: never talk about paying extra for the secret password.
rwood 0
it's because tournament players suck. tougher competition in cash games. cheers. ryan.
TheCinciKid 0
It sounds like you're talking about two totally different games, NL Tournaments and limit cash games. Incidentally, tournaments are for suckers. At any rate, if you want to beat limit cash games you should probably read SSHE and maybe HPFAP depending on what levels you're playing. the difference that I find most interesting is between NL cash games and NL Tournaments. I suck at the former, but can hold my own in the latter. The difference I think is that the emphasis is different. In tournaments you're never all that deepstacked and the biggest emphasis is probably on pre-flop play, espeicially in the later stages. In cash games you have to be able to play all streets well. pckt10s 0
People will play more hands all the way through in cash games simply because they can rebuy. If they believe their hands have a good chance at winning but don't have the nuts they will showdown, simply because they can rebuy. In tournaments, people realize that you can't just call because of the percentages, people bring into account chip stacks, the payout structure and other aspects of tournments. Once your out, your out, so people will throw away winning hands more often during tournaments. Just my opinion though

A friend of my, that has played cash games with me, gave me this advice. He claims that the longer someone plays with me, the easier I am to beat. I don't switch gears enough. He further makes the point that in a tournament you are moving around so frequently that people can't get such a read on me.

blueodum 0
10/20 online is much tougher than 15/30 live - this has been repeated over and over in this forum whenever the topic comes up.As Doyle Brunson has said - tournament players are, by and large, fairly marginal poker players.Drop down to 5/10 online and you should have more success. If you don't, you have to face the truth - you aren't nearly as good at poker as you think you are.
