KowboyKoop 0
People who say that DN is overrated b/c of his really bad year last year are retarded. HOWEVER...those who say that DN is the best player ever (which yes..it does happen) because of his one INSANELY good year he had the previous year are equally as retarded.DN is ONE of the top tournament poker players in the world. I wouldn't say "the absolute best" but he is EASILY in the top 20...top 15...maybe even top 10....hard to definitely say for sure. I think we should just leave it at that for a while. Yeah..he had won the second most money in tournament poker (acccording to him..I believe him)...but I don't think that is a very credible statistic..b/c there are WAY more tourneys nowadays than ever four years ago..and WAY bigger prize pools..and many other factors. Noone would say Joe Hachem is the #1 player...so you can't use DN's statistic to say he is #2 or anything like that. Is DN really a better tourney player than Doyle Brunson (all time)?? That'd be AWFULLY hard to determine..and you sure can't use total money earned as a statistic. He is one of the best. Not the very best..but certainly not 'overrated.' finztotheleft 0
I am delighted to hear that my plans for global dominance are well met in these parts. However, our work is not done so long as infidels (cough, Turd Ferguson) continue to worship false idols. My theory is that once Dunkin Donuts is introduced into these unsophisticated West Coast markets, the proverbial cream will rise to the top, and Dunkin Donuts will be the Microsoft of the coffeehouse circuit.P.S. Krispy Kreme's inability to spell either "crispy" or "cream" is testament to the lack of faith that this diabolical corporation has in the intelligence of its clientele. You know I'm a believer DD, but I think I should point out that neither dunking nor doughnuts is spelled correctly in the name of our beloved emporium.Who mentioned the taste of the doughnuts ? Krispy kremes do not compare to Dunkies, especially the boston creme and chocolate covered coconut doughuts. I don't want to get the great DD mad. I don't drink coffee ( I know, a nurse who works nights and doesn't drink coffee, it's just wrong !), but who can imagine going to the kids soccer games on a brisk fall morning and not seeing 99.9999% of adults there holding a DD cup ? I just love the smell of it ! And for the record, I like to fit in, I pick up my great one sized tea or vanilla chai on my way to a game.Through this thread I have yet to see a discussion of the awesome breakfast meal that is the steak, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich ( on a plain toasted bagel please !)And finally......who can I speak to about getting the very berry bagels to be made a permanent addition and not just a seasonal item ? MrJones 0
In all seriousness the style of play Daniel incorporates with suited connectors and what not does have a huge variance. Thats why in last years WSOP that Druff won, he busted that huge stack, now in limit thats kinda ridiculous. But Daniel gets lucky he will go on a tear, if he doesn't hit flops with those connectors his stack is just going to decrease and he will be forced to bluff, but his table image will be too loose to do so. Daniel's style just lends towards high variance so it's no surprise he can not win a tournament for a year then win 3 tournaments in a month sort of thing.

SpeedKills 0
Even if Daniel were overrated, his past success has presented him with some pretty lucrative promotional opportunities that might throw his overall financial portfolio into sharp relief, even against the backdrop of his inability to match his outlandish 2004 results. What we really should be debating is why Dunkin Donuts has not yet replaced Krispy Kreme in the far reaches of the United States. The key to Dunkin Donuts' dominance on the East Coast is that it produces coffee whose deliciousness is beyond compare. What Krispy Kreme proponents fail to realize is that the measuring stick for any reputable coffee shop is the quality of its caffeinated beverages; donuts are just what you dunk in the coffee to avoid starvation. In the case of Krispy Kreme, the soggy donuts are marketed as the highlight of their enterprise, serving only as a distraction from the fact that their coffee sucks. But between you and me, the differences between the quality of Krispy Kreme's donuts and Dunkin Donuts' pastries, when measured objectively in blind taste tests, are so inconsequential that it makes little sense to bother making the trip to Krispy Kreme when there exists an alternative respite that provides not only a line of mouth-watering freshly-baked products, but also otherwordly coffee, all in one fell swoop. For any Buffalo/Niagara natives, don't even get me started on the travesty that is Tim Horton's.Anyway, don't take my opinion as justification for a Dunkin Donuts monopoly. Try it for yourself.Haven't posted in awhile but had to stop the insanity. If you've never had a Tim Horton's Coffee, you don't know what you are missing. Tim's is by far the best. There is a reason there is a Tim Horton's on almost every corner in Canada. And their donuts! It depends on your faves and some are not so good, but those that are good are great!!!! Dunkin Donuts? I think you have had too many of their coffees to be thinking clearly!Bears fan from Toronto?

kennyg1966 0
He said he was going to play all of the tournaments in January and so far he hasn't won any!!!!! Must be his post-flop play. I mean calling raises in the big blind with 8-10 suited??????? Isn't that what fish do? HA HA HA. I'd like to see Daniel win, but if he continues will all of these business things and stuff he isn't going to be lucky. In order to have your hands hold up, you can't promote stuff. Guys who do that always get sucked out on, what a nob, eh? He is nowhere near the top 1500 no limit players in the game today. Yeah, sure he's won more money in tournament poker than all but Joe Hashem, but that was then, and this is now! I'm sorry, but unless Daniel wins the next tournament he plays there is just no way he is a top player- end of story!!!!!********************************************************************** I've read more of these posts lately than I have in a while, and man are they hilarious! Varience people! Seriously, everybody goes through bad runs from time to time, and it's been my turn lately. Once I get on a roll again, I'm going to save all of the stupid posts I read and here and simply reply with a..... BOO YA!BOOYA you tool. you were the one suckng out time after time. your run is done. come on you were not iwnning in that year with the best hands you were drawing ioncredibly well as the underdog. all you have odne int he last year is call with censored hands and hope they come in. A year ago it worke dout now you just bluff when they don't hit well the odds have caught up.yes you are over rated and yes you had teh greatst year int he most important poker year (the year of the boom) god at least now you knowgo back to school and learn how to spell....HUGE typos!! VegasBone 0
I think by DN's own admission he has been getting pwned since 2005 began, so why is he still riding this dead horse. His celebrity, although allowing him to make some serious bank off of his business investments, has had a backlash by allowing everyone to know that he plays total censored preflop.I would think around now maybe the time to switch gears and then go back to his normal style somewhere in the future when another shift is necessary.Obviously I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground....but neither do most of the opponents that DN is seeing in these big tournaments. From my donkey perspective....if I saw DN across the table and it is me and him heads up......I'm seeing anything down through the river where I at least have a little piece of the pie, or I'm at least going to stay in if I have a farily significant draw...where my garbage may be better than his garbage. I think that's why DN has been getting "outdrawn" for the past year....because in reality I would probably do the same thing against him....and the other pros who play similar garbage. Sometimes the pros have to remember to look at the table through Donkeygoggles and not Progoggles.DN always talks about how the professionals have a better concept of "poker fundamentals." I would like to know which fundamental is behind playing hands like 5-6 suited or 8-10 suited. I'm not being a sarcastic bastard by saying this....I honestly would like to know.Oh....and Krispy Kreme pwns Dunkin Donuts in the donut category, but Dunkin Donuts pwns Kripsy Kreme in the coffee category. Tim Hortons is an embarrassment to the donut and needs to stay in Canada with all of the other embarrassments that Canada has. I vomit in Tim Hortons general direction.
