FCPHA: Big Table in the Back

Recommended Posts

I'm doing some research for a trip I'm hoping to take soon. Possibly in September since I want to do it before the weather gets too ugly. Read blog, give feedback please.
FL has all the 2/5NL 100 max you can handle. Actually they are supposed to raise that, but I have no idea when/if it will happen.

I'm about to drink wine and eat french fries. Gourmet.edit: Yep...I liked my own post.

I'm back in the land of cold weather, wind, and snow. I left CA on a day it reached 90 degrees and arrived in Anchorage to 12 degree weather, caught a plane to Unalaska where it was 34 with 2 inches o

I don't play live NL but here in WI it's a 200 max buyin which i imagine is a lot more useful as far as a chipstack goes

Henry, if I get serious about planning this I'll need some suggestions about where I should go for good cash games around Chicago, and obviously I'd have to stop by and get drunk with you one night.

Josh: If you make it Niagara Falls, we'll organize a meetup. I'll make the drive down for sure, see who else is around and can make it, maybe spicey, sticky, whoever.
how those videos coming along from your trip?

It looked like the logical spot to stop on the way to Foxwoods, and I thought of it because of you mentioning the casinos in the area. Plus I've never seen the falls, so good touristy spot to stop too.

Perfect. Lots of inexpensive motels near the falls, none more than five minutes from either Fallsview or Casino Niagara on the Canadian side or Seneca on the US side.

So why does the rebidding process happen? is it a scheduled time? When they feel like it?
With the economy as shitty as it is, they're trying to trim labor hours off the schedule so they've been playing around with the shifts a lot.On the last rebid, they made a lot of the daytime shifts start slightly later, but we still have too many dealers standing on dead games during the morning and early afternoon. We're just not as busy as we used to be and management doesn't want dealers opening tables if nobody's there to play. Plus, it drags down the toke rate.Yesterday, they removed 2 tables from the pit (1 BJ and 1 3-card) to make room for the poker room expansion (Poker room is going from 6 tables to 8).

Maybe he can throw to himself too!No legit receiving corps in Chicago and I don't count Devin Hester as a legit receiver, he's just the best of a sorry bunch.
^^^thisFirst of all I have no idea how they let Jay Cutler go and I'll give you props he is a great QB and it will be interesting to watch him play this year, but I'm not sure he has the support he needs to be successful.and OH HAI VADE!
That could be very true. I was being over the top to make fun of most of the city that wants to build a statue of this guy already who hasn't even thrown a pass in a real Bears game yet.Maybe I'm just not used to having an actual QB after years and years of crappiness at the position. I guess we'll find out if he can really make the WR's better.I'm cautiously optimistic about the offense. It's only Hester's 2nd season as a full-time receiver, and I think Olson (TE) will have a big year. I'm more worried about injuries and our pass defense giving up 30 points/game.

Sounds like a really cool trip if you can handle all the driving. You'd log a lot of miles on that itinerary, but you could also hit a lot of poker rooms you haven't played in.Hitting places like AC, Foxwoods, Tunica, and Commerce in one trip sounds awesome.

It's 5 days and 5 hours of driving split up over 30 days, about 4 hours per day on average. Plus there is a chance I wouldn't be going alone, so the driving/expenses would be split.

4 hours a day for 30 days straight is INSANNNNNNNNNNNNITYEvery time you skip driving a day to stay in a place you would be like well now I got at least 8 hours on 1 day. Ugh, now way I could do that regardless of how many people were with me.

No question, for Chicagoland you'd want to hit Horseshoe Casino in Hammond Indiana. Just over the Indiana border, it's about an hour from where I live, but only 20 min from the city. 30+ tables, and they run tourneys 3 days a week. They also have WSOP circuit events there, but I don't think that's until mid-late Oct.

We wouldn't be driving every day, it would be like every other or every 3rd day for 8-10 hours. Trying to roughly plan each stop after 8 hours of driving, the one spot I'm not sure about is between AC and Tampa, but I think a stop at Myrtle Beach would be cool and there is a casino in that area too.
