back to back tournament wins

Recommended Posts

So I go to Turningstone Casino on Wednesday night and play in the tournament which was $70 + add ons. There were roughly 90 people in the tournament and I end up winning. So I decide to go play the tournament on Saturday afternoon which was $80 and there were around 150 people in it. I ended up being a short stack going into the final table but I ended up winning that as well. Wanted to post this since it was my biggest accomplishment, I hadn't won 1 big tournament (over 80 people) online/live, let alone winning two consecutive tournaments. In total I cashed for a little over 6 grand.

I dominated both tournaments stealing blinds through out, so don't imply that I only won due to incredibe luck.
Luck was a huge factor regardless of how well you played. Tournaments are for suckers. Good Luck.P.S. Congrats, it's gotta be a great feeling to have won two tourneys in a row.

Never said there wasn't luck involved because obviously there was, but I really felt like I played well. I didn't see many good hands but I kept stealing blinds preflop. I went from being the short stack to chip leader at the final table in about 30 minutes. Everyone was playing scared at the final table hoping to earn more money.

Hey now, I propose no flaming.. great acomplishment, nice win.I went to Turning Stone a week or so ago after winning a live tourny. Blew some of my winnings fooling around at the 1-3 limit table. I was doing side bets w/ the people at the table and giving people money to do stupid stuff. It was lots of fun, well worth the money I spent.I think I'm going next weekend and getting a room for a few nights w/ some friends and hope to actually make some money this instead of basically nutbaring.Anyone else go often enough?

Excuse me, how is going to a final table as short stack, dominating a tournament?

I have won quite a few tournaments, beating thousands of contestants and it is a nice accomplishment- so, everybody who is flaming this guy shut up and let him enjoy it. He earned it as much as anybody else who has ever won a multi in any setting. To the OP, nice wins and don't let these morons effect you- half the people here have never even tasted a win. Good work.

You're a mircle worker.. I dub thee.. helen kellar..Seriolusly, though, congrats!! Don't let it get to your head, though.. I won 3 out of the first four mtt bnm tourniments I played (55 dollar b uy in, 6 table) and it went straight to my head.. I thought I was the best thing since sliced bread, and it made me over look the huge flaws in my tourniment game ( just 'cause the players around you ahve bigger flaws, doesn't mean you don't have flaws of your own)But anyway, enough caution! Congrats!! Don't blow the money like I do ( IE on kinky strippers)

just some advice: never play 1-3 spread limit or whatever it is. The rake is killer in that game. The longer you play, regardless of the cards you're getting, the more you get attritioned. To the OP, sweet man. Yeah, my friends went to Tstone for a week and we "crewed" a tournament. One of us made the final table and he played like a mad man, raising 35% of the pots (either he was a genius or he just wanted to get to a bed, since we had been up all night...who knows :club:). Nobody played against him. We ended up chopping though, as one guy had all the chips and he needed to catch a plane. We couldn't complain; second place money and there was a chance we get 4th, and most probably never get 1st? No brainer.

Although you're right, I don't know if this is 110% true. I played the 1-3 spread game at TS when I went up and performed just fine. I mean, yeah, it's very short-term results, but that's what most people will experience in a weekend or a few days. So, I think playing it for a short period of time is a-okay, as you can beat the rake.Playing 1-3 spread for any sort of extended period, however, is pretty silly. I do think it's a fun little game to play while wait listing for a bigger game, or to "wind up" or "wind down" at the beginning/end of a session. To the OP, congrats on the victories. I'm planning to visit TS again in a few weeks, so I to do you proud.

With about 20 people left in the 2nd tournament I was the chipleader. I found Queens in the cutoff made a raise, big blind played back at me. (He was the 2nd biggest stack at the table, I had been raising every hand in late position regardless of my cards, I was fairly sure he was getting tired of it.) So after he re-raised, I pushed all in. He called instantly with aces. I was dominating the tournament up until that hand is my point. P.S. I could care less about the flames, I am not going to be less proud of my accomplishment. I feel winning back to back tournaments is very impressive.
