DarthBrunson 0
I've been playing poker since March 2001, four and a half years ago. I started online like many players dancing around the $1/$2 table. I moved up steadily to now playing $10/$20 6-handed. Basicly the point of this post is that I am so freaking bored of poker. I've been winning about $3k/month playing 40 hours a month. I've done this consistently for the last 24 months. I have a fulltime job and I am not addicted to poker but just addicted to its money. I find I put too much time (2 hours a night after the 9 to 5 job) into this thing and neglected other areas of my life. I find poker boring because after a while, you see all types of plays and tricks in and out of the book. If I keep playing I KNOW I will keep winning. I think I have nothing left to prove. My question is: Is the poker buzz and all its money and promised fame worth it? Should I quit? I can't play less than 10 hours a week because I know I will NOT stay sharp. When I play I HAVE to concentrate hard, otherwise I will lose. No work is as demanding as this. Oh how I vehemently hate the grind!Btw, I think poker is a mean fcuking game. Here's another analogy to sharks and fishes: Piranhas are merciless to injured animals. And I am guilty too. Sincerely,A bored winning poker player.

STYLINHAWYN 0
what fun is a game that you consistently beat without much challenge? seems like youve been around poker too long and are due for a long break...take some of that money and take a vacation for a week or two and not think about poker at all. that will start the fire back up again
allinbluff35 0
take a break, go out a few times a week, have a social life since you stated it consumes your life. Learn some new games, add in a tourney to your regular tables anything that will help cure the boredom.

Teph 0
It would get very very boring, I think regardless of limits. I suggest getting out and playing some live poker every once and a while, even if you make a little less per diem, you are still getting a huge break, and actually interacting rather than sitting in the dark clicking raise/call/fold. The solitude alone kills my liking online poker as a "job" I would seriously have to play huge limits, just so I could multitable a few tables for a few hours, to make an amount worth the energy everyday. Actually, I like it more because I win more. Don't automatically assume that I have no idea what I am talking about. As a matter of fact, I am a long distance runner who runs between 8-12 miles a day, and grinding it out in poker pales in comparison to running mile after mile after mile by yourself (with no music or Ipod, or gay shit like that...). So yeah, I know what he is talking about, but I am able to focus on grinding it out better I suppose. And I have not once "taken a shot" at a higher limit by playing out of my bankroll.
