best value vegas hotel

Recommended Posts

if you're looking for a GOOD CHEAP hotel you're not going to find one.....i wouldn't stay at the Sahara, but for the price it's about right considering it's on the strip....if you're looking for a 3 1/2 or 4 star at a good price you should look into Paris, Luxor, or Monte Carlo.

I sayed at the Sahara last month on a guys only trip and it was fine. Sure, the rooms aren't great, but I only went their to sleep and shower so it was fine. The casino is not too bad (daily poker tournaments), and the location is great. It's an easy trip up and down the strip, and a short bus/cab ride to downtown. I wouldn't take my wife there if it were a couples trip, but it's great for a cheap bed/shower on the strip.

I have stayed at Ceasars, it was nice, but that was a little while ago. Pre Celine. It was the new tower. I have a great picture of that huge David statue and it looks like he's about to Tea Bag me.I also have one from Disney where it looks like I'm blowing some character from Toy Story. No wonder my wife left.

Stayed at the Paris in July.  Great location in the center of the strip, and got as good a rate as anywhere worth staying.
Stayed at the Paris once with my husband. Nice rooms. He got the flu and threw up all over the place. Ruined my 25th birthday. Hence the reason he wasn't invited to Vegas last week.

I HIGHLY recommend Barbary Coast. It is right between Flamingo and Bally's, and across from Bellagio and Caesars. Me and my girlfriend stayed there this past April. The casino is terrible, but the room was nice and our view was AWESOME! Looked right out at the fountains of Bellagio. Hope this infor helps.Jay

The Flamingo can be cheap, has an awesome pool, and some of the renovated rooms are nice, but it is a boring casino and I've had really bad service there.I have stayed a couple of times at the Monte Carlo and they have nice rooms, a great location, and it's a reasonable price. Miss Idaho is right about Bally's, great rooms, good service, and a good location. You'll end up somewhere else to hang out though. If you're looking for ultra cheap with a good location the Boardwalk would work. I stayed there during a bachelor party and it was clean and the casino offers cheap blackjack. I would say it's on par with a Best Western. If location doesn't matter I've heard good things about the Orleans. I would also look around and see if you can get a good deal at New York, New York, Ceasars, Mirage, Alladin, Paris, MGM, Luxor, Treasure Island, or Mandalay Bay.If you're downtown you can stay at the El Cortez.

Excalibur is cheap, nice rooms, alright casino (not for poker, only low limit), it is right across the street from NewYorkNewYork, good location. During the week it is only like 59 bucks a night, double or triple that on weekends. Weekends are more expensive no matter where you go.CheersIf youare gonna play low limit, the excalibur has a wheel you spin if your Aces get cracked and the least you can win is 25 bucks, up to 300 I think. Not bad...

I have stayed at the Boardwalk a few times...great location....clean rooms...good prices..!!it is across from the harley cafe..or in that area!!
Dude the boardwalk is the best kept secret on the strip. Weekday, $50 a night. clean rooms, easy to get to (no maze of casino and BS to wade through to the elevator). A definite +1.check out www.allvegaspoker.com for some other stuff. I think they have room rates posted/listed on the site now.

If you want low budge strip go with Westward Ho.Next level is anywhere downtown I suggest Las Vegas Club or Fitzgeralds. Level II you move up to places like the Boardwalk, Treasure Island, Circus Circus and The Excalibur.Level III is everywhere else except The Belagio, The Wynn, The Palms, and the MGM.

I go to vegas 4-6 times a year to play poker/golf and enjoy myself. I have stayed at almost every major one on the strip and its really all about location. If you want to be with your friends, the Sahara isnt terrible, and its definatly cheap. I personally just get the poker player rate at The Wynn (used to go to the Bellagio for the same price but the Wynn is way better). If you go to one that has a poker room, you should inquire about the poker player rate. At the Wynn, its $129 on all but Fri and Sat night and $199 on those. Bellagio has the same rates but the Wynn will give you $1/hr in food comps for your time played. I believe the MGM and Mandalay Bay also have cheaper poker player rates than Bellagio and the Wynn but there isnt nearly as much poker action there. PM me if you have any other questions. Good luck.
