Not sure how many or if any of you read Josh's Blog. I have been reading it for the last few weeks...He makes a comment in his last blog about "making a mark this year and being forever remembered as one of the greatest of all time." I'm not sure what a player could do in one year to leave a legacy forever or what this guy has done to date to lay the foundation for one WSOP to make him one of the greats...To me he is a one shot wonder that finished 3rd in a big tourney and not much else..(ok he has one more 3rd than me)..there is a hot link at the bottom of DN main page if you want to check it out

He made a promise to me, he will come in 1st in EVERY single event, even the casino employee event.... I think that would leave a mark.[sw]

yeah josh seems to have a sort of inflated view of himself. on one post he talks about standing with some guy at that guys show and how kids are asking the other guy for his autograph and not for josh's. and he says "i want to scream 'hey dont you know who i am'" guess hes basically like michael jordan now.i think hes an arrogant prick, but thats just me and im ready to hear about how i dont have all his accolades. But heres the real question, do poker accolades mean everyone should worship you? maybe not josh.

I don't even watch a lot of poker on TV and I'm pretty sure I've seen him on many final tables from skimming channels (Things get ruined for me when I already know who won). Josh Arieh is strong. He may be going over the top with that statement, but what do you expect from a professional poker player? MODESTY!?

I do sort of agree with this, I mean one time he was making fun of Phil's table antics/ego and I mean he isn't the most gracious of people at the table (2004 WSOP and USPC)But regaurdless, he is a very solid player...

Josh also has a family, and has just recently started to play full time. I mean I don't think he is as good as he thinks he is or he will make his mark, but definitley not a "one hit wonder"...

He's a good guy. WSOP was a bit out of character from what I understand. I can't remember the USPC, but was that where he kept calling clock? Do you blame him? However, it does sound like he MAY have a bit of an ego at the moment. See my comment about pro poker players.

I don't necessarily blame him, but he wasn't in the hand so it isn't his place when Toto is trying to concentrate and not emit tells, you tell that to the floorperson not the player...

i thought watching the wsop last year he was a prick also. but reading his blog and daniel's comments of him, we probably judged him wrongly while espn was making good tv. if they took a few clips of me at the tables everyone would think i was a dick, even though most of the time i am having fun. people get frustrated, i can't even imagine when several million is at stake.i also think he was totally kidding about the autograph thing. i read it a while back and thats what i took from it. almost like he wanted to be more famous, but he knows he still has to make his mark. just my take.

i've talked with josh a few times and i can tell you he is an awesome guy, and is definitely one of the premier poker players today. ESPN did a horrible job covering him, i was at the wsop last year to watch for part of the last 2 days, and josh didnt seem out of line one bit. it's amazing how ESPN edited hours and hours of tape and strung together every comment they could find to make him look bad. norman chad makes me sick. one hit wonder??? JA kills it man, plus he's young as hell, in 10 years he'll be top 5 in NLHET's no doubt. he was controlling the table when i saw him play. if i can ever become as good as JA then i'll be a happy(and rich) man, barring no other gambling problems....lol

I don't think the way he acted at the WSOP 2004 was very far from his true character. DN is his friend and backed him up after he made an ass of himself. But, DN is not going to save him from himself. He's going to act a fool again. Does this mean he's not a good poker player? No. He is also not a "great" poker player either. I think he's "lucky" he's in the presence (had to look at my Led Zeppelin albums to spell that one) of so many outstanding players. He better "come to Jesus" with himself and realize how lucky he is until he piisses off those that back him up.

I have respect for Josh. I don't think that he is a one hit wonder either. To be successful at tournaments you HAVE to want to win more than anything. Most people who take third in the main event would be pretty happy. I think Josh not only wanted to win, he expected to win. It's that kind of determination that makes a player a champion. He has a lot of heart and a lot of drive. There are a LOT of very good no limit players out there. Josh included. He, like Phil Hellmuth can get out of line once in a while. But that comes from wanting to win. The next time you play a tournament. Ask yourslef, how badly do you want to win. You might be surprised with the answer, depending on how honest you are. Good Luck.

i agree with you steve...........whoever you are. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaahahah.I think he is a "good or above average player". His eddicate (didn't spell that right) is what i attack. Why do i attack this about him? Because a major quality to be a pro poker player is not letting your emotions come into play at the tables. That's why he fails in my eyes.

Arieh has been around for awhile, and he's got a solid game. I 'm not sure he'll make it to "legendary" status, but hell he's rich, and he's playing in the big games that none of us are, so give credit where credit is due.

I've already said who I am. I don't think I've seen Josh's emotions get the better of him. In terms of his decision making process at the table.I guess it's easy for people to sit on the sidelines and form opinions of everyone else. I personally have respect for every pro poker player that I know. Obviously, I have more respect for some than others. Usually when people feel the need to belittle others, it's because they are dealing with their own insecurities. Not always, but usually.

I will say it again. He needs to grow up. He has such an inflated opinion of himself . You don't hear DN, Ivey, Lindgren or other greats that actually have reason to be egotistical act this way. I hope that this year when he goes into belittling a player that he does it to the wrong guy and they take his ass outside and teach him a lesson. The guy needs to grow up and realize the world doesn't bow down to assholes no matter what they have accomplished!

No disrespect, but I really don't think you are in a position to judge so much. Your judging based on edited TV coverage. And honestly, wouldn't you get a bit competitive when the turn of a card means the difference between several million dollars?

I think you've watched espn's coverage of the 2004 series one too many times. They made him look like a tool because it made good television. Don't act like you've never talked sh!t to a guy at the table. If you read his blog I think you'll agree he seems like a good guy. Cocky, and overconfident, but hell, why not? I'm sure you didn't win over a million playing cards last year, cut the guy a break.
