It will be interesting to see how Mike Richards responds to not being on Team Canada come next week. He was an important part of the last team, but now he is watching this game, thinking....wow, everyone I play with is in this game, or on another Olympic team. mrdannyg 274 Posted February 21, 2014 Share Posted February 21, 2014 What a fantastic period of hockey. That was among the best-played I've ever watched (as it should be, given the skill level). Canada in particular just looked really crisp in the first half when the ice was good. I do think the US defencemen are collapsing a little too deep, giving the Canadian rushers too much space to shoot from the top or outside of the circles. Those are dangerous shots, and they've been lucky a few rolling pucks around the crease haven't found a stick. Link to post Share on other sites

I guess "better-played" was too vague, I meant more about the skill demonstrated in an open game and big ice. But yeah, I'm not quite seeing playoff-level intensity. Link to post Share on other sites
