Vegas Knights 56
There have been times where I have been so distracted or annoyed at a poker game that I actually left the game even though the game wasn't bad. I remember one time at the Golden Nugget a woman dealer looked so much like a former girlfriend of mine that I couldn't concentrate on the game. I mean I have never seen two unrelated people---I assume she was unrelated since the other girl was 2000 miles away---look so much alike. It was spooky how much they looked alike and I just had to go to another table. Back when there was smoking at tables, I left games simply because of cigarette smoke. There are some brands that don't bother me. But there are a few brands that do. Anybody remember those old cigarette fans some players brought to the table? ____ Can anyone describe any other things (or people) that simply made you get up and leave even though the game was relatively decent? blakheart 3
I once was sitting next to a very obese man that smelled really bad. Not only did he crowd my space, but the odor was unbearable. I couldn't stand it and asked to be moved to another table. I do remember people smoking at the table, I couldn't imagine it now.
Vegas Knights 56
Another time at the Golden Nugget, I was in a good 10 - 20 limit game and was up about $180 but was absolutely freezing because I was sitting in a draft. It was in the middle of summer and about 107 degrees outside and I didn't have a jacket. I asked anyone if they wanted to change seats but no one would change. Finally I went to some kind of store they had on the casino level. They had GN light jackets for sale for $90 but they were all medium and I wear a large. Since the game was good I said the hell with it and bought the jacket anyway even though it was tight. I went back to the game and played with an uncomfortable jacket. Since I was still not comfortable, I left shortly after that. I never wore the $90 jacket again.
mrpaddyx 13
One time, I was sitting at the table, and someone handed me a copy of an Award Winning Poker Themed Screenplay. I was so engrossed, I just kept on folding every hand was eventually blinded out.
Vegas Knights 56
I left a game at the Circus Circus poker room back in the 80's simply because of the excessive background noise from the casino on a crowded night. The room at that time was located near an aisle that led from one of the entrances. Also the slot machines were relatively close and at the time there was the constant sounds of metal coins hitting the trays. They moved the room to another location since then. On a side note, at that time you were not allowed to check raise there. I guess they figured since it was a family casino they didn't want any hard nosed play, which is kind of funny looking back on it now.
Balloon guy 158
I once left a poker table because of an annoying player who took all my chips even though I was obviously much better than them.
ChnaWht 0
After my wife cr-bluffed me on the river in a 4-8 Lhe for the third time in 2 hrs at Foxwoods and I had to borrow more money from her in front of the table. I whispered in her ear, "babe, I only got enough for the blinds can I borrow another buy in?" She then loudly exclaimed "again?" I muttered something about how bad her cooking is (under my breath of course) and sheepishly walked away.
Vegas Knights 56
...Not only did he crowd my space... Yes, I've felt crowded several times at tables and it probably affected my play for the worse. Some rooms at times will even try to seat 10 at a table.
Sleepis4beginners 2
the only times I have left the table have been when someone who is quite obviously sick sits down, especially if they are sneezing, coughing, wiping their nose with their hand then handling the chips... I grew up on a farm and had to deal with some fairly disgusting things but for some reason that just kills my game and I sit there wishing the person would leave thus distracted and better if I just leave... I say things to them. Are you OK? Are you coughing on me? Do you need a Kleenex? I REALLY don't like people spraying germs on me.
Balloon guy 158
I once played a table with a guy who put his head down and threw up on the floor. In his defense he was just drunk. The poker room was very accommodating, they moved us to a new table, allowed the drunk guy to sit in, and had the waitress get him another drink. True story.
