I Have No Opinion On Contracts Thread 2011 Edition Part A

Recommended Posts

Zach thinks the pick sucks.I'm guessing he's making a mental note that I had to drop a farmhand to use a draft pick and that he needs to remember to actually take him off my farm.
Or he has some porno-love for it.
It just notes where I stopped putting guys on the proper team pages, as well as the draft page. Can't do that while I have action.
Ah.

I originally planned to not take a defensemen with either of my 1st rounders. I ended up with 3 firsts, and I took 2 D men and an imaginary forward.

Lunch time!More of that salad I made yesterday, with the last of the leftover chicken breast cubed over it, and some light caesar dressing. Going to skip the cheese this time (unheard of for me!) for health purposes.

My draft plan has actually gone pretty well so far, got two goal-scoring forwards that I was high on, didn't reach too much on either. Would have liked to get Strome with the #7 or Murphy with the #14, but I knew it was never going to happen. Now I just have to figure out which plan I'm going with for the second round...stay on the board or say fuck it and go with my gut. The "fuck it" plan has worked pretty well for me in the past...tough call. It will depend on who's available with my next pick, I only have three left.

That's the end of the first round, btw. 2nd and 3rd rounders will have a $1 salary.I have no idea when Arp gets home from his vacation, but I feel like we'll slow down a lot here. I know Mike is at work, and then Arp is next, so it could be a while for those two picks. We've had a really really good pace today.

to be honest, I've slacked off on my research, and only started heavily researching yesterday and today. Without mapping anything out or knowing much of anything, I didn't think it would be worth taking a Defenseman in the first round. once I started researching, I realized Ryan Murphy was the guy I really wanted at #11. I had a few guys I wanted more than DOugie Hamilton, but I mapped out my next 8 picks, and I'm pretty sure I can get those guys later in the draft. I am pretty high on hamilton though.

If I had to rank the top 2 fantasy defensemen from the 2011 draft, I would have called it Murphy - Hamilton.

I probably will try this sometime, because it does sound good.
My wife and I make something exactly like this. One of the few things I like making, since it is mostly just slicing and I can do it while watching tv. If I was eating it by myself, it'd be even easier because I'd just throw all the veggies in one container for leftovers.
None of you eat cereal in the morning?edit: by morning I mean breakfast or lunch depending on when you wake up.. Sorry lazy poker players.
Smoothies, for the win. Good thing for bachelors, even though it sounds like a married guy thing. Use frozen fruit, so it never goes bad. Use a magic bullet or something, which makes single servings and is super easy to clean. Then just throw in some combination of milk, orange juice and yogurt, and you're set. I make mine up the night before to save time in the morning, leave it in the fridge overnight, then grind it in the morning. Yogurt helps the taste, and you can use a whole package in just a few smoothies so it shouldn't go bad.
It has come to my attention that I need a bigger salad/mixing bowl.
Dollar store has surprisingly good, large salad bowls.
I just made a HUGE salad... lettuce, cukes, carrots, all from the farmer's market, and then tomatoes from the grocery store, cuz I forgot to get one at the market. Made a giant bowl, probably like 5 huge servings, will be awesome until I leave on Sunday. Sprinkled some feta on top, with some zesty italian dressing.Meanwhile, I baked up a chicken breast, seasoned with some garlic and italian dressing. Am I doing better???
That is almost precisely what I ate for all of university. Replace "sprinkled" with "covered" for feta.
Serge just posted on facebook that he is at the hospital waiting. Weeee.
Weeeeeeeeeee
Not really following it, but considering I make all my money in $USD, I'm a little worried. I can't afford ANOTHER pay cut.
I originally put money on when the USD was around $1.30. I took off my last bit at less than par. That sucked.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnerId=rss_cwsThe White Sox and Blue Jays completed a trade Wednesday that sent Chicago starter Edwin Jackson and third baseman Mark Teahen to Toronto in exchange for reliever Jason Frasor and pitching prospect Zach Stewart.Jackson, 7-7 with a 3.92 ERA in 19 starts, was widely known to be a trade chip for the White Sox because of Chicago's six-man rotation and Jackson being eligible for free agency after the season. It was also known that Chicago was looking for relief help. Published reports said that Jackson might subsequently be sent to St. Louis for outfielder Colby Rasmus. The White Sox were Jackson's fifth team in nine seasons.doubt anyone here cares. Sorry :club:
don't like it at all from Toronto's perspective. We trade one of our top pitching prospects, and we get a wildly inconsistent starter with admitedly good stuff. And Why the heck do we need Mark Teahen? DOn't we have enough replacement level 3b eligible players? Is this just going to slow the promotion of Brett Lawrie further?
Yeah, Rasmus. Teahen was a salary dump - he'll make $5.5M next year, and is an awful awful player. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jays bury him whenever Lawrie is ready. No way they use him as an excuse to keep Lawrie down. Also, Stewart is not a great prospect. I know he's been pushed as one - I don't mean to get all Serge on a guy just traded, but look at his age and peripherals in AA. He's probably an MLB player, but not going to contribute a lot.Stand-alone, the White Sox trade is terrible, because Jackson doesn't help us, but value-wise I think they made out well. It's not my money, so I'm happy for them to take on Teahen's contract. And the Rasmus trade is just fantastic of course. The relievers are all Type B, which makes them reasonably valuable, but a few bullpen guys for someone with the stats, talent and three years of team control are awesome. Though it sucks for my fantasy team (boo Rajai Davis), getting a CF is fantastic for the Jays.Christ, with a lineup of Arencibia, Lind, Hill, Escobar, Lawrie, Bautista, Snider, Thames, Rasmus - that is one of the best offenses in the league. Hell, it might even be a top-2 offense in our division!

I have to go write an angry email to McDonalds.com.
LOL. I would love to hear this. I wrote to United about my delays in Chicago. Never got a response back.

Their response is probably delayed...or stuck in Newark.

Anyone following LAA/CLE game?Santana has a no-no thru 7. An error and an unearned run in the first is the only blemish so far on a perfect game.A 7-run 8th inning coming up for CLE now...probably.
