The game is 1/3 NL full table in the casino.Maniac has been calling almost every raise and has raised every unraised hand. his stack fluctuates from $200-$1000 regularly throughout the game. At this moment he's got about 300 and while he's handling a lot of players i've picked him off a few times and he respects my re-raises.Businessman has only been sat down for maybe 10 hands and almost every single one bought in for $100 or $200 and called down until all-in and lost. I'm not sure if he even knows where he's at.On Fire has been seated for maybe 20 hands and has raked a few huge pots bringing his stack to ~$1200. He is paying no attention to anyone or anything, just busy showing off to his friends behind him his new stack of chips.I started with $200 about 6 hours earlier and steadily grinded away up to $350 or so still waiting for a big hand to make my night so i could leave happy.Maniac has the button.Businessman has the big blind. On Fire limps in for $3 in middle position.I raise to $20 with AKo in late position. All 3 call making the pot $81the flop is AKT rainbowBusinessman checks. On Fire checks.I bet $50.Maniac slams the table and yells F*** and throws his hand in. :shrug:Businessman calls. On Fire calls.Pot is $231The turn is J (as if the dealer read my mind then said f--- you)Businessman goes all-in for his last $75. (I am definitely ready to call him)On Fire looks at my chips then raises to $125. The dealer corrects him and he puts in $25 more to make it $150.I roll my eyes and fold.Businessman shows KJ for 2 pair and On Fire shows Q7s for a straight (both as expected). The river is.....drumroll....an ace (of course making me a would-be full house)sigh.Previously I had played pretty tight for 6 hours with basically no big fluctuations in my stack and after this hand found myself doing a lotof limping and folding combined with raising, flopping nothing, and folding and ended up back even where i started after an hour.now how do i do this better? i've only played live cash maybe 5 or 6 times and never played a tourney. I guess i'm just kinda getting started in a sense (even tho i've played like home games and some online donk poker for years) but want to start taking it more seriously and learn.

You raised preflop with the best hand, you bet the flop with the best hand. You folded the turn with the worst hand. If there is something else you think you can do better, let me know...........................

next time, set something up w/the dealer beforehand. He's trying to tell you something: buddy, I had both of these guys SET UP and you FOLDED! Maybe he'll want as much as 50%% of the final pot away from the tables, but hey, it's worth it. Your job's not on the line.
