Tick Tock, The End Of Our Economy Clock!

Recommended Posts

the trend lines and projections are pretty grim ($200k per person by 2030ish), but our situation is not that out of whack compared to everyone else in the world.disconcerting nonetheless. everyone ought to go steal/rent/buy IOUSA.

the obvious difference is that we should not be like like everyone else in the world....we are more enterprising and work harder then the rest of the world....which is what made us the richest nation every...when you are on the ladder climbing you look up. when you are at the top of the ladder you set the sky as the limit. We the USA shouldn't compare ourselves to the rest of world...Bill gates sure as hell doesn't compare himself to you or I.

wait for it to become a crisis and default on the debt citing the strain it would put on our economy
What's good for the goose, and all that, eh??But seriously, even say that's a serious option. What would then follow? I mean, this debt can't even be blamed on the recent financial 'global' meltdown, since mounting debt was a problem before that. I haven't recently looked at US figures of debt to GDP though I'm sure it was rising before...

With tens of trillions of dollars in debt outstanding world-wide? It would cause a war. And we'll have elected a demagogue who won't back down. Buffett predicts this in IOUSA, btw. It'll take another decade or more of this kind of careless behavior for it to happen. I think it's more likely to happen during a recession, because then the lower tax revenues will make it difficult to service the debt and provide the services we're all dependent on.I really don't think people understand what's going on here. We've shifted into this mindset where people at all levels seem to think it's okay to be levered to shit at all times. It's becoming abundantly clear that we're just gonna lick our wounds in the housing market and rinse/repeat a few years down the line in some other sector.

apparently, bill gates comes off alot humbler than you.this kind of mindset courd very well be a reason for your actual situation, too. if the sky is the limit and you think your're icarus, you are in for a hard landing.

Humble has nothing to do with it. it is fact...check it out. Do search on standard work weeks, paid time off and so forth...it is true. over the last 100 years no nation has reached higher or had shown more ingenuity then the US. Do you disagree with this statement? You can hate me / us for it if you want (doesn’t really matter) but that doesn’t make it less true. If you are going to model yourself after others why wouldn’t you look up the ladder as opposed to down? If you are at the top why would you look down and find an inferior model (European socialism) and say…lets try that! Yea good idea there.I guess I am the dumb one.

the here and now is this: we're getting destroyed by smarter, harder working people in Asia. it's been true for a while now. where have you been? average annual hours worked, as of 2004:Yearly_working_time_2004.jpgA number of countries aren't members of the OECD, so they don't appear here.and another thing. foreigners don't hate us because of our success. they hate us because we act like arrogant fucktards when it comes to discussing work ethic and economic results. case in point: you.we are not special--we're complacent. we're in for a huge reduction in our standard of living relative to the rest of the world if this continues. what's it gonna take to get you to snap out of it?

We as a nation are not going the route of Asia, we are going in the direction EU socialism. In that model we way ahead. So from the world outlook I stand corrected and i should have been clearer.and another thing. foreigners don't hate us because of our success. they hate us because we act like arrogant ****tards when it comes to discussing work ethic and economic results. case in point: you.See another thing we agree on. However, if more of the US and the world had a work ethic like mine they would be like me and hating...it is a small price for my life style.we are not special--we're complacent. we're in for a huge reduction in our standard of living relative to the rest of the world if this continues. and again we agree!! We are complacent...and it drives me crazy. However that has mostly been the case for the last decade or 20 years. Before that we were hungry...another reason i find the baby boom generation to be the most worthless bunch in history.if we suck it up, stop trying to be averything for everone and get back to minding our own business...we will kick ass again. if we leave the Democrats in charge of everything and continue to have government takeovers of business we are going to free fall. The difference is I know what it takes to regain greatness and I am willing to pay the short term price to do it. Most of our nation is not willing to do that.what's it gonna take to get you to snap out of it?i don't need to span out of it...you need to check with BHO and his band of thieves. You could follow up with Acorn and Unions...and then there is always check with the the general free loaders that don't want to work!! Glad to clear that up for you.
