The Biatch's Barbershop

Weird weather yesterday.. I was playing tennis with a buddy and it was super windy all game, but we were having fun. I could see lightning in the distance, no biggie, then all of a sudden the wind picks up hardcore, leaves flying in the air and dust in the air all over. He yells "wanna go?" I say yep without hesitating and we RUN to his car. Then it started pouring rain, all the traffic lights were out and huge chunks of hail started pouring down. Pretty scary but we didn't get it as bad as Ottawa it sounds like. Just a few trees fell over here.

Whoa just got back from the casino, I was biting my nails at the Boston game. So lucky to just push. Thank you for two overtimes. Casino I did well for once, some pretty funny stories, but I'll save that for another time.

Hmmmm bankroll management is not my thing. But then again, the barbershop needs ratings, and bold moves get ratings. Day 4 Bankroll: $150.80Colorado Rockies WIN (-117) vs San Diego Padres. Risk $100 to win $85.47Not even going to bother saying why as I feel there is a jinx do it. Also I'm going to start a mailbag, like a Bill Simmons type of thing. Every Thursday I will answer all the questions, so either post or pm me your questions and I'll answer them on Thursday. Also also, I won't be doing a story every single day. My life is no where near that interesting and I will run out of stories. Some days it will be a story, but some other days it will be a random fact about me, and some days I'll have a list, and then some days maybe something completely different. For today:Random Biatch Fact: Pro: Biatch has his M license, has a motorcycle back in Newcastle, and can ride it. Con: Biatch can not ride a bicycle.

Story of the Day: Today I was taking a number two (that means a poop), and usually I like to read something to help the time go by faster, which usually means SI magazines. But my roomates and I are moving out soon, so we had no SI articles in the washroom since everything is being packed. Well I ended up reading the back of the shampoo bottle and the ingredients. I saw things like ammonium lauryl sulfate and tetrasodium EDTA. Pretty scary shit, no wonder old people get bald.
I cannot number without reading material and have often done the same thing with shampoos gels and everything else when away from my home bathroom.Great thread by the way.

Phew, good night for the Biatch as the Rockies won 12-7. I think I've found my niche in baseball. I checked last night and for the contrarian situations last night, the contrarian bet would have won 6-7 times. Meanwhile in basketball, the contrarian bet would have been pummeled, as it was like 0-3, and the NHL had none available. Every five days as well, I'll have an update of my bet history. Day 1 Balance: $200.00Day 2 Balance: $186.70Day 3 Balance: $150.80Day 4 Balance: $150.80Day 5 Balance: $236.28DET Tigers (-115) to beat NY Yankees Risk: 20.00 Potential Winnings: 17.39CLE Indians (-110) to beat Boston Red Sox Risk: 20.00 Potential Winnings: 18.183 Way Parlay, DET Tigers WIN, CLE Indians WIN, TOR Blue Jays WINRisk: 10Potential Winnings: 68.17Three Things About the Biatch, two are correct, one is wrong.1) Biatch drinks a starbuck atleast 5 times a week. 2) Biatch likes to eat oatmeal for breakfast. 3) Biatch has 6 fingers on one hand.

DET Tigers (-115) to beat NY Yankees Risk: 20.00 Potential Winnings: 17.39
good job on the bet last night. Now I gotta ask you why this bet? Is this following contrarian theory, or something else? cause I was looking to bet on the Yankees, because of the pitching matchup which I think favours NYY.

For last nights game or tonights? I would give you last night with CC v Verlander, but Hughes v Jackson tonight is in no way in favor to NY in regards to pitching. Did Hughes even win a game last year?

This might be the poolie in me talking, but I dont have that much faith in Edwin Jackson for tonight. I've had him the last 3 years in my pool, and he has a history of bad streaks and losing control for games at a time. His last game was a classic Edwin, 3 or 4 innings of great pitching, then lost control and bad pitches in the 5th. This game will show if he has matured enough to snap out of it and show some grit when he makes a few bad pitches. As for Hughes of NY, I really believe in him, and I think his showing in AAA so far this year is a prelude of things to come.I still like Edwin Jackson long term, just not sure if he is finally putting it together.I guess my point is his stats for this year might be over-valued, and Hughes' stats might be under-rating him. Or I'm completely wrong. :club:

I love both Det and Clev bets. Jays I have a feeling will lose this series. KC is a decent team this year and will surprise alot of people. Iam a huge Zach Grienke fan as the guy is a guarenteed under for me. This goes back to his rookie year, than he had some sort of anxiety issues in 07 and when he came back the guy looked solid. I think because of his psychological problems the guy just concentrates on the game.

Tough to bet against the Red Sox during this win streak where they are crushing the ball like it's batting practice during it, without Ortiz practically. Lugo back tonight so that could help or hinder, not too sure. Nick Green has been decent offensively, but horrid defensively.

The false one is that I had six fingers. I actually have 5 fingers like most people.Hey Arp, the reason I bet the Detroit game was the exact same reason as the Colorado game last night. The line started out atNY Yankees (-104) @ Detroit (+101) or something like that. Anyways, the percentage of bets was about 84% on the Yankees. The line then moved to NY Yankees (+103) @ Detroit (-103) or something like that. If 84% of the bets are on the Yankees, you think the line would move to -105 or worse, to discourage Yankees bets so that they would get even action. The line though moved in a way to encourage even more Yankee bets, since the line is at +103. Hence, me betting the Tigers. Obviously, this doesn't work all the time as the Yankees are winning 10-0, lol. But lately in baseball this theory has been holding up around 60-70% of the times this scenario happen. The reason I bet so much the other night on the Colorado game was because San Diego opened up at -129, and closed at like +114, and had about 70% of the public betting on them. That's a huge line move, and anything with more then 65% of the public backing the bet is when I pay attention to it. This usually helps me decide on the size of my bet, as I'll pay attention to how much the line will move. Obviously, this betting style isn't fool-proof, but it's just more about picking your spots. I didn't bet $100 this time, as I obviously didn't notice the lines move as much as last night. I never really pay attention the pitchers or any of that, because I'm sure the bookies have access to more information then I can ever dream of, so usually I just try to use their own information.

I guess I should be happy I got the push in the SF/LA Game, but in reality this one should have been easily over, the bases must have been loaded like 5 or 6 times, and no runs were ever generated in these situations. So sick! Ah well, onto tommorow.

Day 6 Balance: $224.47An ok day yesterday, other then the Yankee game, I got all the games right or the push. Today after looking at the lines this early in the morning, there's only one real spot I see, and I'm going to try to milk it. The Red Sox are favourites, mainly because the public still overvalues their 10 or however game win streak. I feel in the next few games, the lines are going to be pushing the Sox a lot, and the public will be backing them too. The line for this game should probably be more around even money for the Red Sox, but I think it'll open a lot of the time at -130 like it did today, and close around even money to entice bets on the Sox. The reason it opens at -130 instead of even money, which it should be, is because the bookies know the public will overvalue the Sox, so they can give up the extra chalk. Cleveland Indians WIN (+112) against the Boston Red Sox Risk $50.00 to win $56.00Biatch's Story of the Day: This story really isn't about me. It's about one of my real good friends in Ottawa. So a couple years back, me and the boys went out to a bar in downtown Ottawa on like a Thursday night I think. I think it was the Highlander, I might be wrong though, it was quite a ways back. Anyways, there were 6 of us, and our one friends gets stupid drunk. We were all drunk, but he was really drunk, and got kicked out like right after we had ordered a shitload of drinks and food. So we told him, sorry, but you're dumb, we're not going home with you. He's all pissed off and starts calling the bartender a racist, which makes no sense, lol. Mind you my friend is white, and the bartender is big, black, name was Omar, and wearing a kilt because this is a Scottish pub. Our friend eventually rides his bicycle back home.We think it's the last we'll see him tonight, and we'll just see him when we got home later. Nope.... he comes back an hour and a half later, in new clothes, shaved his face, shaved his head, and yes showered. He then casually walks into the bar like he's a new person and sits beside us. We all burst out laughing, Omar comes over, and our friends goes... "Hi old chap, I'll have a pint of Moosehead please" As you can guess, he was kicked out. The rest of the night he then sat outside the bar on the other side of the window watching us drink, lol. Luckily it wasn't raining or anything. So yea.... that was wayyyy back in the day!

p.s. Moving Thursday night to a new apartment. Off on a flight to Toronto Friday morning, likely won't be back until Sunday evening. So likely no posts for the barbershop inbetween that time frame.

Can't believe Cleveland blew that 5-0 lead last night and lost 6-5 in 10 innings. Un'ducking believeable. Go Big or Go HomeDay 7 Balance: $174.47Florida Marlins @ Chicago Cubs OVER 9.5 (-115)Risk $115 to win $100Story of the Day: There's this girl at the office that is really cute. I've been trying to go on break with her at the same time to get Starbuck for like 2 days. Yes, I'm cool like that. Anyways third day is the charm and I manage to to leave at the same time, and we enter the elevator together. It's just the two of us, and just before I'm about to speak (I have no idea what I would have said, it's irrelevent once you read on), I fart.... and now just a silent fart, but one that was like a bb gun going off. Obviously she heard, but pretended not to hear it. I just put my head down in shame, and ended up going to Tim Horton's instead of Starbuck to avoid awkwardness. FML.

I had money on Clev as well after scooping ice cream for 5 hours for charity whats the thanks I get 3 runs in the top of the 8th than the solo shot in the 10th. At least I laid off of the N.O. Den game the line seemed fishy to me.Too bad Iam not here in the summer would have discussed baseball lines with you. Just a heads up always print out the lines at night before going to bed than check them at noon than at 6:30. Games that actually move half a run go against it.

Wicked dude, yea that Cleveland game was brutal, hit the over last night tho.Where you headed this summer? Yea, I 100% agree with you, way better to check the lines for a 2nd time at noon rather then @ 6:30am. It's just that I work till 5 or 6, and sometimes can't make my bet in time. And I don't really want to go on the computers at work to do gambling, lol. I'll have a good look @ the lines tonight tho, hopefully can make some money.
