I'm going to guess that she is Ms. Hawking (the woman doing calculations for Ben) and Faraday's mother. Which leads me to believe that Charles Widmore is his father.
Ms. Hawking looks older than Widmore but that's possible I suppose.I wonder when/if we see the return of Claire and whether the Jack-Claire sibling storyline ever resurfaces.

I read that Claire won't be in this season, but will be back for the final season next year.Anyone else see Charlie guest star on Chuck as a rock star? I guess he's typecast now.

isn't the world taking a hit?ya, definitely slowdown in Macau but there was no way the casino biz was going to sustain 40% YTD growth forever. it's probably a good thing so that the government here actually starts investing into other things.

I thought the episode was pretty good. I like it more than the premiere.
I liked the premiere, hated the second episode, and enjoyed this one. Mainly because I found a post on another site that I posted on 8/2808 where I told the posters in that thread that

it was obv back then that Jin was not dead

. It was good to bump that topic and show how smart I am.

bloody nose severity is related to exposure to the island...so i'm guessing that we're at least being led to think that Miles is the son of the guy who does the dharma initiative training films?? anybody for a dharma beer?

I knew...We were going to meet a young Danielle Rousseau when Locke discovered the French writing on the wreckage. The twist for this story arc is that she is clearly pregnant already...Jin would turn up. That was one of the first spoilers that was verified.Everyone's nose would start bleeding at some point. But...why isn't Daniel's nose bleeding? Is it because he has a constant already and the other two do not? Why are Juliet and Sawyer "different"? Is it because they haven't actually "left" the island...ever? Maybe it is leaving the island (and then coming back) that cause the brain clock to break down, along with the "constant" concept.Sun's motives would be clearer once she found Ben. Did Widmore give her the intel on what Ben would do to flush out Kate, thereby making her able to locate Ben?I have no clue...Who those people in the outrigger were, the ones shooting at Locke and crew....there is more that I can't think of right now...

We already know Juliet was brought on the island by Ben and then Sawyer crashes later. Thus the bleeding order. Faraday's buddies must've been to the island at some other point but don't remember. I mean Miles does have a fukked up power.

I know there's 30 games remaining in the season, but I wanted to point out the Canucks are not in a playoff spot right now...

The earlier you were on the island, the sooner your nose starts bleeding. I'm guessing because Daniel has a constant, his will not. Charlotte was on the island before anyone else, so her nose started to bleed first.I think Sun's intel has all come from Ben myself. The same reason that Ben was the one trying to get Aaron. He wanted everyone to meet at the pier at the same time so they could all go back to the island.

Yes, and he had to leverage everyone's strongest motivation to do that: for Sun, her anger about Jin's death, for Kate her desire to protect Aaron, for Jack his desire to save everyone, and Sayid he has been controlling all long with his desire to kill.

I think Jack's motivation is to save himself here...and Sayid hasn't actually shown that he 'likes' to kill people. it's always presented as a necessity for the context of the storyline.

Oh damn, I just had this whole thing typed out about how the outrigger shouldn't have made the jump with the gang while they were paddling because it's from the future, but then I remembered the compass John is holding jumps with him, so I guess being in physical contact with an object will allow it to jump time with you.And did anyone really not think that was Rousseau on the raft when they started talking in French? I didn't need the big reveal of her name at the end to figure things out. Same with realizing the lawyer was working for Ben so they'd all meet up at the end.I am enjoying the ride, however.

At this point in the show, I think they're trying to end possible speculation bit-by-bit. They got enough open questions out there, and even though some of this stuff is kind of obvious to even a dullard like myself, I think it's good to not leave any more open-ended possibilities if they don't have to. I did like how they set up Claire's mother at first, since I've been thinking it was Ben since the storyline was introduced. Threw me off for a bit, then re-confirmed what was getting obvious. One question I had...Have they ever showed Jack finding out that Claire is his sister? I don't rememeber...but either this week or last week Jack was talking to Kate and he said "Aaron is my family too" or something along those lines, and I was wondering if he knew he was his uncle, or if it was just some broader concept of family, like black people have.

Ya, they did. During the episode where jack finally buried his father, she came up to him at the end, said she had a daughter by Christian and what a coincidence, she was on the plane. Jack asked her name, she said 'Claire'. And he instantly realized Aaron is his nephew.
