yes, and seeing as how no fours are dead, i'm capping that street every time. rough 6th and 7th.analyzing 5th in stud8 is similar to the flop in o8 since two cards are yet to come, although you have to take dead cards into account a lot more. considering the action from the high door cards, you can safely assume that more high cards are dead than low cards by a wide-ish margin, and are better than the 57%-ish to make your low that you would have in a vacuum.
Thanks. I always get this sick feeling in my gut if i don't make my low by 5th street and I know i have to take the hand to the river. It always seems like if i get to 5th with no low, I either brick out or make some pathetically small pair.

When y'all check your BB in triple draw, do you keep 8s or only 7+? I would imagine that the more opponents in the hand, the less likely you would be to keep an 8. And the looser the opponents, the more likely would be to keep it?

if you're not gonna call 4th, you shoudln't play the hand :club:WAT? I'm not really a favorite in EITHER direction, why am I getting most my money in when I'm being sandwiched?edit: i thought checky wrote "if you're not gonna cap 4th . . ." So is the call -EV against boards as strong as those? Is the call +EV against weaker boards?cap 5th, rest is ok, but i wouldn't ever try to c/r against idiots.Am I really that strong in the high direction to be capping 5th?

you have a 4flush and 4 to a six low, i'm awwww eeeeen.what i mean about fourth is that you played a speculative hand and caught good with it. if you're playing that kinda hand to start, you'd better be continuing with it when it improves.

Had a really good session of 15/30 o8. Was 2 tabling and had a guy who was 3 betting hands like a688 and I had position on him so I was doing a lot of 4 betting and crushing his dreams. Might go back and look for some interesting hands if I can find them.

Good I would have raised pre-draw as well. Now you cannot break a 86, you can only break a 87, if you think your beat the better play is to fold or call down cause you have basically no outs anyway.

Actually, I like capping it here, and seeing if he pats. Then if he leads out after you capped, I'd call down, and if he checks, you're probably good, and if he check raises, then you're in trouble.

yes, this. any pat hand after one draw should be played like the nutz0rz, and you can reevaluate afterward if necessary.also, you're never breaking an 86, fwiw. you either call down, raise, or fold.
