(Okay, I've been drafting this message for about half-an-hour now, trying to put it perfectly. I've now realised that such is not possible, so I'm just going to post it as it is)Sorry to interrupt, but can I just say...From what I've gathered, Pros, and the players that would be disappointed not to go deep in the tournament favour a higher structure, agreeing with Hub's OP.The "weaker" (for lack of a better term) players, who probably got in through a satellite, or at some other discount, will take $238 as they're probably profiting a lot more than $23 overall.Of course, there are exceptions to this, and Grinder's point about the long run is extremely important, as recognised.I think (though acknowledge I could be wrong) that pretty much summarises the debate, but obviously there are other factors from both sides that have been rightfully put forward from either side, and my summary is very vague.A lot more importantly, though, is that fact that we are fortunate enough to be able to voice our opinion on a daily basis, and on a massive geographical scale. Let's admit that we're privileged for that, but let us also show each other the respect we deserve, no matter what has been said in the past. We're all civilised people here. Now, staying out of it, can we just remember that FCP is supposed to be a friendly place, and from what I've seen, it's definitely doing a good job at maintaining that:FIVEREASONSTOLOVEFCPPersonally, I :club: FCP, and so should you :ts

I don't know if I can add anything except that this thread is extremely entertaining. My favorite part is all the build up to whether or not GrinderMJ would weigh in, and then the excitement surrounding his eventual response. Such superstardom.

If I know i'm right, and I say I know i'm right, and it turns out that I actually WAS right, then how was I coming off as arrogant? But yes, I appreciate the fact that you are one of the few sane people on this site that understands what happened in this thread and that I wasn't being a jerk.

1) No one ever said you were wrong. Not one person, in this thread, thought so. Everyone knows you were right in the OP. I have yet to see evidence of one person saying it was incorrect. 0No one is even attempting to argue that, in a vacuum, they payout structure is bad.It would be great if you stopped saying you were right since that is not the issue in question.Do you see what I am saying here? Not. One. Person. Disagreed. With. You.2) Now that we are hopefully clear on point one, would you like me to quote all your posts in this thread that you were acting like a douche? I think you can only post 10 at a time so it may be two posts, let me know if you would like to see this.

Let's all assume that the flatter payout structure is worse for the "pro" online tournament players. That means that it's better for the non-pro players since the tournament is a zero sum game minus the rake. Should a site create payout structures that benefit the "pros" or should they design them to benefit the average player ?Obviously there is some point where either a too steep or too flat structure becomes awful but are these structures in that range.Basically the people arguing that they hate the structure think that a steeper one would benefit themselves and that's a natural reaction.A comment has been made that structures like these are hurting the ROI of the pros. There obviously has to be a balance but if a site is doing their job for everybody they should in many cases be trying to take as much advantage from the pros as is reasonable.

Yes.It's one thing to create a structure that can benefit the site and the aveage players. It's another for a site to go out of its way to create a structure that hurts the EV of the customers consistently paying the most rake.

wouldn't sensitive skin cream be skin cream that gets all upset if you don't buy it because it's too greasy?

Since it seems so hard for you, I'm going to offer you something. I'm currently taking an Introduction to Logic class, and am willing to ship the book to you when I'm done with the class free of charge. If you want it, let me know. I'll gladly assume all costs for shipping and handling also. The cost of the book wasn't quite the fee for a Sunday Major, but enough for you for a 109. Maybe, after you've read the book you can sell it back to a bookstore and get enough for a 55.
