Luckily Seattle and Oakland are playing each other, so I've had a break from AL West losers for a few days at least. Tomorrow will almost surely be disgusting, though. I hate backing the Twins, since I have a White Sox future and the Twins are overvalued in general, but against the Angels I don't really have a choice but to play them. I would have had to sweep all my baseball bets to even put a dent in the amount I'm going to lose from my weekly golf spew, so I'm in the black today no matter what happens. All the guys in the contest are straight turds. The invite I received was a result of a discussion in which I disclosed my leans for NFL preseason games, and afterwards remarked, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a lot of bets on the Falcons and Dolphins this year." The guy offered me the last position in the pool on the spot. Every single one of these guys is going to pick the Patriots, Giants and Cowboys every game. It's very possible that every single submission I submit in a given week will be unique among all participants. The Dye 2-out 2-run 9th inning bomb that put the nail in their season cost me some money.I don't have my copy of Football Prospectus nearby, but I think FootballOutsiders are a little higher on Minny than they are on Pitt. I don't like Pittsburgh at all. The Greek has the over/unders listed as:Minnesota, over 8.5 wins -140Pittsburgh under 9 wins -115So it's probably a coinflip in Vegas's mind. I might be on it if I can get around to figuring out my likely weekend college football schedule. The Miami play is good, too. Miami in a virtual pick'em on the road against one of the best teams in the NFC is ****ing hilarious. Should be awesome when they're stuck 17-3 after the first quarter. I like them both. Good luck. I ended up passing Miami because I saw too much love for them on the boards. They went from a 4x bomb to a total pass like (snaps fingers) that.
