Lebron James, The Cheap Superstar

Recommended Posts

OK, I LOVE Waffle House, and we have none here in Northern Indiana. So when I'm on the road, I always stop and eat there. Now, most of the waitresses at these places are missing teeth, have scraggly hair, and could generally just use a good power washing. My bill usually comes to 8 bucks or so, and I just give them a $20 and tell them to keep it. It's like I gave them a winning lotto ticket man! The $12 is nothing to me (my company reimburses me anyway) and it makes her day. It makes you feel good to leave a big tip, as long as you get halfway decent service.

I'm not buying this at all. You think the man is made of jerseys??? Seriously, he went and got a $20 lunch and the manager was "nice???lol" enough to offer it for free in exchange for lebron taking down his info and going home and finding a jersey somewhere, signing it, and sending it back. Yeah, I'm sure he has tons of time to do stuff like that. Just because he's a celebrity doesn't mean he owes anybody anything. And regarding the $800 bill, the restaurant is completely retarded for not including 20% on a bill like that, and if he did only tip $10 it's probably because he assumed the tip was included in such a large bill, as it would be anywhere else. And again, I doubt the main thing on his mind is 'oooh better look at the fine print on this bill.'
yeah, LOL for not including the tip on the bill.. I'm not buying this story. And, Lebron's signature on a Jersey is worth way more than 20 bucks... just saying.

Knowing how people tend to react around professional athletes or the otherwise famous, I would wager there is > .0001% chance that the service sucked.
Wait...isn't there a >.0001% chance of just about everything?
Well, like most children of black women sadly I will never know. Momma was a whore.
Yowza.

If you know anyone who delivers pizza or is a waiter, ask them how well blacks generally tip. There's nothing LeBron can do about being black.
Oh, my!

just another reason why kobe > lebron.
The first reason is that raping women is fun.

Now here is a level headed dude. That being said, what kind of restaurant is dumb enough to also stay open 5 hours past a standard closing time? I would have been chasing him out loooong before then, I don't care who he is.

This may be true, but not all restaurants add gratuity to the bills and most only do it to parties of 6+, 8+, etc. Even if this restaurant is the kind to not add gratuity, that is not the server's fault, who we can assume did his job. It's just a total lack of respect for the guy who brought you your chicken fingers and ribs for the last 5 hours!

I waited on Ben Gordon.... He came in with like 5 or 6 other people, sits down and has a meal.... nobody else eats anything. When he's done, one of his lackeys grab the check and pays. Leaves maybe 5% tip. Wasn't too happy. Pippen is notorious around Chicago though.Derrek Lee on the other hand was pretty cool and left a good 20% at least, I forget the exact number, but I was good with it.Best celeb I've ever waited on was Bill Curtis though... and if you don't know who that is, then here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_CurtisBut he was awesome, did all the talking, was super nice and chatty. Was out with his secretaries. (Apparently he has 5 of them). LOL. But yeah, he was quite a bit nicer than even your average decent customer.

I wonder how many times Pippen has had his food altered.. it's different if you're a habitual non-tipper but are just some dude.. but if you're a local superstar and you're infamous for not tipping.... well.. never fck with the people who prepare your food, that's my motto.

My only restaurant sting was working at Outback Steakhouse for 6 weeks and it was plenty long enough to learn this valuable lesson. Goes for drinks too.As far as the OP goes..LJ obv let his buddies tip so he can blame it on them. Politics 101.
