wtf? How do you call a raise with 85, even if it is sooted, and then a nearly pot sized bet with no clubs on board, even if you do have an OESD?

Dammit...He is way too good at mtt's.

Don't forget that luck has plenty to do with it. Sure, the guy is pretty amazing at MTT's, but you don't get that far that often without plenty of suckouts...I mean, if we all won the AIPF's in which we were favs, we'd all be champs, too.

I knew it was going to be a bad tourney early when I raised from the button with j9 sooted, got called by the BB who had AA and got him all in on a j96 rainbow flop....6 ball on the river to cripple me down to 800ish.

wtf? How do you call a raise with 85, even if it is sooted, and then a nearly pot sized bet with no clubs on board, even if you do have an OESD? Don't forget that luck has plenty to do with it. Menlo has been just absolutely crushing online MTTs for a while now, in my mind at least i think it's likely that he's probably the best online MTT player out there right now.

Those are the hands you get paid on if you hit. The preflop call I thought was fine in position, but obviously the flop call is kind of expensive compared to the stack. It just depends on table dynamics I think and how often wandigo was raising and coming into pots, as well as what he was showing down. But I'd be more comfortable playing the 8-5 sooted hand with 50 bb's or more.Also, just because it was an ftops tournament and $200+ buy in, does not mean ALL of the competition is quality, lol.

Yah, I can't say as I disagree and his terrific run at EPT final shows he's got serious mojo. All I was saying is that there is huge variance in tourneys you need to play mega volumeAND get lucky to be ranked that high. As well as being a stellar player...like WestMenloAA
