Stupid steps. Hurt badly on the bubble when I got shortie all in with my KJs against his K6 and he sucked out on me. Then knocked out in 3rd when my A9 lost to 72 when he rivered trip 7's.Step 1-->Step 2-->Step 1-->Step 1

I have a Step 3 and 2 ticket I'll be working later tonight. Somehow, i manage to make good laydowns and stay out of trouble and not get beat without retaining a retry ticket. Too bad I can't do that in the Sunday Mil (make good laydowns).

Loaded up on Stars to try a method I am calling the "battering ram" for lack of a better term. Strangely enough, Step 1 has been the hardest, but this is my strategy and the results. (Stategery...its what wins wars!)Buy into 3 step 1s, repeat until you have 3 qualifications for step 2.Play those three step twos, repeat advancement until you have 3 step 3.Play those three step threes, repeat advancement until you have three step 4s.Play those three step fours...you get the picture now right?I currently have two step 4s. Still have $120 worth of "ammo", I am ahead vs. direct buy ins. Why three? and general FAQ. A) I can really only handle three STTs at once before my observation and performance falls off.B) I am certain enough in my skills that I can always 1st-2nd at least one out of three SNGs at just about any level, especially with qualifiers. (I know TPMM)C) By keeping a lot of "ammo" on each level and using the steps system to always have this in place, I am maximizing my chances to hit the next level.D) If I can make it into 2-3 step 6s...well, that could turn lucrative for $$ if not the actual qualifier.E) Budget for this project is $200, the price of (roughly) one reasonable MTT qualifer. That is that is about 27 starts (9 base attempts). After that, I figure if I can't make it the strategy is a failure and I am really not out that much. Risking $200 for a 12k package. Less than one night's hotel stay at the Palms where the winners will be kicking it.Where I need help is figuring out the mathematical trajectory (formula) of this plan, if it can be formulated...and what is my/a player's base level of performance needed to make this effective a majority of the time.Can/Should I repost this as a topic in strategy?Cheers,

#&*$&*$!Out of another Step 1 in 7th after flopping T2P in a blind battle and losing to turned trips. Who would have thought slowplaying K9 on a K94 flop in a blind battle could be so dangerous?

Man these Steps are brutal. I will make it but man you have to run good. I got to Step 5 on my first attempt. Knocked down to 3, up to 4, down to 2, up to 4.... I feel like a human yo-yo. Tonight I will be resuming the quest at Step 3. Failure is NOT an option. To those of you who have already made it - much respect!

(My first post)It can be done. I entered step 1 and played extremely tight. 3 days later i made it to step 6 withou rebying after i was short stacked with 3 left in a step 5 and the idiots went at each other with equal chip stacks. The AQ took out 99, who was shorter, and i advanced with 2.5 blinds left!!!I waited over a week to enter the step 6 so that i could scout the pros out. There are about 10 "regulars", all who have won seats, that seem to play all the time. I ended up choosing a game on 4/9/08 in the A.M. after 6 had registered, none of the regulars. Of course the last two immediately registered and were pros.I wanted to turn my 7.50 into 6th place money, $500. I barely made it. (One time I had AK and raised pre flop, was reraised by the chip leader and folded half my chips with 7 left. I really wanted the $500!) After that I just tried to make the next pay hikes, I found myself 3/3 with very few chips. I became aggressive and stole/doubled up several times to pull almost even with 2nd when this hand came up:I was in the small blind with A 9, the button was hyper aggressive chip leader at the time and moved in for over 10 BBS, I knew I was WAY ahead of his range. Unfortunately (fortunately as it turns out) the BB, who of course has me covered, wakes up with AK, and calls after ~5sec. See VERY Lucky results. (dont know how to convert).
