BigDMcGee 3,352
That's what the MLS gets for putting all of it's eggs in an ex-scum meathead like beckham. IT was a good gamble, I guess, crowds were up huge for the games he was in, and he did look really good from some of the highlights I saw ( which tells you how crappy MLS is when it's best player is someone on his last leg).I've heard mixed reports that he's out for 6 weeks, and that he's out for the season. Can anyone confirm/deny? If he's out for the season, GG MLS.
Jadaki 0
I've injured my knee exactly how he did, I never missed a game just a week of light practices... he needs to man up.

We invented the game and we called it football. What the **** is soccer?Anyways. You yanks got Beckham fresh from Madrid having just helped madrid overhaul possibly the best team in the world (barcalona) to win La league. Also beckham went to LA to save his marrige fact. He would'v come back to England but he couldnt because he wouldnt play for any other english team other than man utd. WE have Ronaldo now and beckham n Ferguson had a big fight so he couldnt go back to manchester utd. Any team in england would have had him in their team including Arsenal who actually tried to sign him the same month Galaxy did sign him. Any team in the world would want him because he sells merchandise 10 times better than ronaldinho, kaka, Ronaldo...anyone. Not ticket sales but shirt shales. Beckham isnt on his last legs...this is why. His game has never been about pace, he has never been particually fast ever even when he was yoiung. He is about vision, precision and awareness. He could stand still all game and still create more for the team than most.Don't know if you sqw England play on wednesday but Beckham played half fit and managed to produce the goods. Even though we were beaten and hit 1 of our lowest points in history by not qualifying for the euros next summer lol

Everytime this guy steps up to take a free kick, 80% of the time the ball is gonna end up exactly where it needs to be. That alone is grounds for a great player. Added to that, he has precision passing, great awareness and a hot wife. Whats your problem with this guy? He's doing the best he can for Galaxy, you should be happy that he even came to this club instead of just signing a deal with Arsenel. Stop critisising him and rather appreciate the class and intrest he brings to "soccer", (football) in the U.S.
Jam-Fly 8
If you had your right leg insured for 35M and your left leg insured for $300 you would be off a bit longerMeh, I've never been a lover or hated of Beckham. Well, I used be a hater, but then I began to appreciate that he is a good footballer. But he's not, and never was, world class imo. I wouldn't rate him up there with the likes of Ronaldo, Zidane, Nedved etc.

James D 0
Dropped from the England squad.I still think he'll get his 100th cap when he's back playing regularly again, and not doing kick-ups on Brazilian beaches.

I think beckham would replace him on that list of 3.No way. Nedved was amazing. Beckhams a quality player with a brilliant pass/freekick. But Nedved was much better. If Beckham didnt have the english media he would have never been so built up and would have been a quality well above average player. Not better than Nedved atallIt wasnt even until Madrid that he learnt how to defend

Maniac 0
Beckham and MLS was never going to make football popular in the US. ESPN getting the rights to the EPL will be the stepping stone to greater things. If you were trying to make someone a baseball fan, you wouldn't force feed them rookie league ball (MLS), you would show them MLB (EPL) games. People want to watch the best, not some sixth-tier league. And in return for the EPL making the sport more popular in the US, more athletes will take up football as their main sport and it will make MLS/US mens national team better. Its a win-win. Some people don't want ESPN to get the rights when the bid in a few months, but I certainly do.
