FourFlusher 0
Has any body heard any size estimates for the main event this year? Also, a little off the wall, but, how is Daniels sending these updates? I thought electronic gear was forbidden. Is he getting up from the table and using his PDA, or what?

FourFlusher 0
I don't know about there, but, most of the places I've played don't allow cell phones.
LittleWyvern 0
You can usually use a cell phone or pda in a poker room, you just can't be on the phone while you are playing a hand.
SpiderGuard 0
Don't the rules tighten up after players are in the money? At least about iPods and items like that?
Czech Razor 0
Yeah, the penalty is for using a cell phone at the table. You can certainly walk away for a minute to text someone or make a call.
Jam-Fly 8
wow rly? so your not allowed make a call sitting at the table while not in a hand?

FourFlusher 0
Damn, I left the word "official" out, lol. There's been dozens of threads with guesses. I was wondering if they had some idea based on actual entries yet.
ROGUE06 0
9240 is my estimate.the real question is more or less ppl then last year's main event
FourFlusher 0
That was indeed the question. They better be able to put an official estimate together pretty soon, they have a room/event to prepare for.Wait, it's Harrah's.Never mind. They will start to prepare 5 hours into the event. The like to repair, not prepare. James D 0
One thing Harrah's, sponsors, affiliates etc will have a big problem with, imo, will be lowering the prize money compared to last years event. It will be unprecedented in it's history for the main prize going down.Strangely, it wouldn't surprize me if they hadn't thought too much about this, because as has been said, dis-organization seems to be the only consistent factor. Maybe when they realize numbers are down, they'll do something weird with the structure of pay-outs, to make it at least the same as last year for first.
showstopper24 0
the real question is more or less ppl then last year's main eventNot that it means anything, but for the 2007 WSOP wikipedia page, it says that Harrahs is preparing for 11,000-12,000 people.I think someone should make a poll about this. One should be if it will be over or under last year, and another poll should be every thousand and which do you think it will fall in (1,000-2,000; 2,000-3000; etc)
