Thanks guys. J9 was a mistake. I've done that many other times when I've been doing fairly well in a tourney but am also fairly short. That is, not steal when I should have, and then when I have an actual hand I am too short to get the blinds to fold. Another question, if you're still reading this. Exact same situation as before with the AT, but lets say I had A3. Still push? I had only 3 M, but still almost 8 BB, and could wait to push when big stack wasn't BB. You push with A3 from 4th position?

Yeah, there was a point a few hands earlier when I had J9 and it was folded to me in the cutoff, but I folded. Is that a bad play?I figured AT was definite push, but also figured BB would call, which I didn't really want with AT. I mulled over it for a few seconds (considered folding, as I'd been busted on AT last game), but pushed and lost to BB AK.

Last night on Pokerstars, $3 rebuy. About 100 players left, 180 paid. I have 45k chips, average is about 80k. Blinds 4000/8000 ante 400, so my M is about 3. I am in fourth position with AT offsuit. Folded to me. Stacks behind me are all fairly average, except BB who has about 150k. What should I do? I think it's an easy question, but I want to hear what y'all think.

Just because somebody plays defense doesn't mean they play it particularly well.And just because somebody DOESN'T play defense doesn't mean that his team suffers.
