  1. I play almost exclusively HU SNG's. My success/failure rate is not my question here. Recently I have been coming more and more into contact with this player:I start out pretty aggressive, raising the button roughly 75% of the time. I usually end up taking a chip lead of close to 2 to 1. Lately I have been running into players, once I assume this chip lead, who start pushing all in pre-flop.The trouble with this is that the blinds are still usually 15/30 or 25/50 (2nd or 3rd level). My question is this: What types of hands do I want to be calling their all in's with? My current level is wi
  2. With no read, you should have folded. Blind aggression is the biggest money leak in NL hold'em.
  3. 1) Don't play party SNGs. They're terrible2) Never call a big raise with A4s. It's ahead 1/7 times, and when it is, it's impossible to play OOP. IceAmen. If you are going to make your money playing SNG's please do so on Stars or UB even. Stars has slightly less traffic than Party, but still has plenty of Traffic + Fish to make a good buck playing exclusively SNG's, and their blind structure is head n shoulders above Party's.As for the hand...???????....what were you thinking, besides over thinking the situation? Just reading your reasoning made me think I was little mermaid swimming arou
  4. However, given your stack size and having 2 tight players at the table, with the blinds that high, I would just move all in from that point on. I would have pushed this hand pre flop and take the guess work out of it.
  5. 4 handed and a read on the player as Loose. I make this call every day all day. Not to mention that you are getting over 2 to 1 on a call to eliminate a player from the tournament. Good Call.
  6. [This almost guarantees he gets to see the flop without putting too many more chips in the pot... also gives him a chance to pick it up right there, also gives him the lead in the hand]At a loose/aggressive table he stands less than a 10% chance at picking up the pot with a double the BB raise. He is UTG and any caller behind him will have position on him. Doubling the BB also lets 99, TT, or JJ or any smaller pocket, call behind him. If he does not set his hand, he will never know where he is at. Oh and please do not tell me you were expecting to do anything more with this hand other tha
  7. What hands does he bet on the river that you can beat? Call.
  8. Probing the flop and checking the turn, IMO, is a thoughtful play. There was an UTG raise and then a re-raise directly after, and the BB still calls both Cold. Given that situation and having an A hit on the flop, pushing here (this early in a tournament) is a suspect play at best.
  9. [if you push and he calls, you have a lot of outs with two cards to come.]How many "clean" outs do you think you have here? In tournament poker, you cannot recover from Zero. To push here and be called would be a fatal error. I like to the probe bet on the flop as it usually will buy me a free turn. Thus by probing the flop I can get to the river as cheap as possible. I would absolutely want to make my final decision with this hand AFTER I had a chance to see all 5.
  10. Make it 1600... if raised, fold.. check out the flop, and play accordingly.1600 UTG at a L/A table??? That would be disastrous IMO. To do so would leave you with 7,400 and the blinds up next. I like the L/F to a raise line. At a loose table it would be -EV to fold this, but to raise here is also a -EV situation. Calling pre and attempting to see a cheap flop is the only +EV situation at this table.
  11. The guy called your raise with something. That flop was very much in the Zone and to push here would be a huge mistake. I like your probe bet as it appears very scary even to someone holding a naked ace. He checked to you on the turn, I would take my free card and play the river from there.
  12. Do not overguess in this situation. Are you playing to win the SNG or slide into the money? If you are playing to win, this is a very easy push.
