Alright, this made me take a look at my stats I have from the game I played at for a couple years while in school. It was 3/6 and 4/8 and the only game in town. They spread both limits, and I would say about 75% of the time I was playing, the game was 4/8. Rake was $3 + $1 for jackpot. I grabbed all my 2005 stats just to make the point. For that year, I put in 172.5 hours and made $14.64/hr.I ain't bragging (much) but even at low limits and the large rake it is definitely possible to beat the game. Hard to say if it was a bad call or not... sure would have been a tough laydown. They have played together a lot, and put in about 1200 hands today heads up, so obviously he had a good read. I don't think we can say it's a bad call just by looking at this one hand.According to my PT, Benyamine still finished the heads up battle, on two tables against Durrrr, up 40k, even after this hand! Though he was down overall from the 6 max tables.

It is 7.5:1 (or 1 in 8.5 times). Yes I know this, but I think the consensus given implied odds is that in a limit game, it is correct to call only for set value when getting about 5:1 (because of the money we will usually make after we hit). Actually against 2+ opponents, getting 4:1 may be correct (more people to pay us off when we hit, although also more people to snap our hand).

Sounds a little greedy. The pot is already very large, and you might be getting called with JJ-KK. If both are on hands like this, I think it is reasonable that one of them will pay you off on turn and river (stubborn bastards). I like this play because you lose less when you are beat, but you also have an opportunity to make a second best hand pay you off on 2 streets. If it gets checked around, then you bet river and get called by one opponent most likely. You break even if you get called both streets 50% of the time. But it is definitely a big possibility that you are in fact beat, so

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in order to correctly call with a PP preflop only for set value, we need somewhere between 4 and 5 to 1 (this assumes decent implied odds).Getting 5.75:1 on this call it looks like. Definitely a call.

Interesting situation. I like betting this river for a couple reasons. Only real hand that beats us is a J. But it seems like a draw or an A high is more likely. Sounds like your read on him is that if he does have A high, you are getting a call. Plus if we are beat, we are rarely getting c/r'd. Getting a call from A high I think is marginally more likely than him having a J. But it is a pretty thin value bet.

I prefer leading at this turn. Ya got a made hand plus the redraw, it really puts your opponents in an awkward position, even if they have you beat right now. It also avoids (usually) going to 3 bets on the turn. If you get raised, you can just call down. Button is playing like he has JJ-KK, and we don't want to let it get checked around.I think the next best play is to c/r. If you get 3 bet, muck river u/i.
