  1. Pretty sure it needs to work less than 50% of the time here unless im missing something. Edit: yeah I thought about it for a bit more and obviously you are totally wrong. By your math if he bet 18 into an 18 pot it would have to work 100% of the time. It has to work somwehere around 40% of the time but I dont feel like doing the math.
  2. Yeah I think your analysis is good. We just play slightly different in this situation. Probably not a huge difference either way. Cheers.
  3. Acids analysis is decent if you have absolutely no idea how the guy plays. It is not optimal if you have any sort of idea how the player plays. You dont need to have played with the player very long to have an idea of how he plays. I have played in these games and there are some very passive players. If this is a passive player, check raising them here is a really bad play. I dont really like a line here that is bad vs passive players and decent vs aggressive players. You definitely need to choose your line based on the player in this hand.Edit: I know you have only been at the table a fe
  4. Ive played in the borgata 5/10 a bit myself. I dont think that really matters all that much for this hand but I figured I would mention that. I think the optimal play here is to bet this turn vs a passive player and check vs an aggressive one. If the passive player raises your $250 turn bet you should not play for stacks there. He will have a set or a straight every time he raises you. He would just call with 2 pair. The aggro player will bet lots of hands that you beat so its best to check to him. He would fold many of those same hands if you bet. Also if you are beat by the aggressiv
  5. I am a NL cash game player as my profession. This book is too much theory. Obviously it is worth the price though. I expect some better NL books to be coming out shortly.
  6. I cant remember my score off the top of my head because I took the test a couple weeks ago, but it said that I have the skill of a mid stakes pro, which is what I am. So that was interesting.
  7. The Subject of this post is retarded. They never asked if Wasicka was intimidated by anyone. He was asked if he was nervous playing with Daniel and Doyle etc. He responded that he just played tight....
  8. 1/2NL live is beatable. I will give you my personal experience, which may or may not apply exactly to you:My winrate per hand live has been more than double what it is online. This is because the players are worse. Then take into account that I play about 1/6 as many hands per hour live as online. That is due to multi-tabling and the quicker pace of the online games. Thus my hourly rate live is usually about 1/3 to 1/2 of what it is online. Thus if I make $100 per hour playing 1/2NL online I usually make anywhere from $30 to $50 per hour live. Most of my live experience is at the Borgata.
  9. Unless you are playing above 5,000NL it should not be taking you an hour to find a good table.
  10. I just got back from a weekend at the World Series. I played in the $1500 no limit holdem event. The day after I busted out I was also trying to find some cheap tournaments to buy into so I will give you what I found were the best bets.First of all there are tons of tournaments going all day in the Rio convention center on the tables not being used by the main WSOP events on that day. There are constantly sit n gos for $50, $65, $165, $525, and $1,065 starting like every 10 minutes. Also there is a 2nd chance tournament at 11pm everyday which is $225 no limit holdem. There is also a 7pm s
