  1. So you are telling him to commit himself to a pot, in which if raised he realistically might be up against a flush? As apposed to taking the free card and seeing what happens on the river? I'm saying that you check here, because he is a call station AND he might have the flush. If you bet around 400 into his stack of 850 you are putting him to a decision for all of his chips (basically), you put the decision on him right there and dont let the river dictate how you play and possibly fold the best hand on the river. This guy could have anything because he is a calling station if he does call
  2. I woulda spilled those chips too and by accident! did you see how many stacks he had to push over that must have bee difficult to do its nopt easy to push all those stacks at once! i dont think he meant to drop em all over the place but was probably a lil frustrated from the beat and wasnt fully concentrating on how neat they made it to hoyt's pile
  3. can you link this or is this the whole discussion?
  4. i dont know if what i posted is helpful or useful or even accurate, but as i see it calling the turn and calling the river is the best play
  5. 3 betting the turn - if he does not get raised, he bets the river unimproved and most likely wins 2 BB3 betting the turn - it gets capped he check folds the river unimproved and loses 2 bb3 betting the turn - gets capped he improves on the river to two pair or trips and its good he wins 3-5BB most likely 4bb3 betting the turn - gets capped he improves and it loses and he loses 5-6BBcalling turn calling river he either wins or loses 2BB
  6. i still dont know if 3 betting that turn is right i have been passively thinking about it for most of the day, i can see 3 betting the turn and folding to a cap thought i think this is the worst route to go of the three i dont think its that bad a play, then i can see just calling two and calling river, then i can see three betting calling capped and folding unimproved... this hand is just giving me al ot of problems i think the way custom intially played it is correct.
  7. you read something wrongthe OP says he raised to 4 total dollars and he is the BB and has a 2 dollar forced bet in, therefore its 2 dollars to him, EASY CALL
  8. i think it would be giving you 10:1 odds to call on the river, but i dont think AJ wins with a cap on the turn and then a lead out on the river 10% given no reads
  9. and if he caps the turn do you call and then call a river bet?
  10. mix in some online and omaha and while you are learning your optimal strategy for them keep playin a game or two of limit hold em still. Your bankroll wont take much of a hit and you'll get to enjoy a new game
  11. blah. I guess a turn flat call is okay, but only bet that river if you improve, bluffing there is the exact same as the turn bluff, i just would bet out that flop or c/r the flop and proceed from there, makes the game a lot easier than trying to evauluate after every street what is the best thing to do.
  12. i never said to go allin on this hand, i was explaining the thick skulled wisconsin boy that he nut peddles to much in NLHE cash gameshahha, very well then. Well to the OP dont go all in on this hand on the turn, play it as i said to in my first post
  13. dont go all in over the top of a bet with a semi bluff when the original better is getting better than 2:1 to call, this is a horrible time to semi-bluff as allinbluff was stating.
  14. fold and get more reads on this player, i wouldnt be ready to commit all my chips on very few reads with top pair good kicker in a highly coordinated board, find a better spot, i like the fold
  15. no way. they all showed weakness if they reraise after he has invested 2 more dollars and gotten valuable information with a limp reraise almost always indicating strength. How can he possibly fold to for 2 more dollars with 14 in the pot, it doesnt make sense even with the slim chance of a limp reraise
  16. i guess you could argue a three bet the turn and then fold if he bets out on the river but then the pot is super big by that point, especially if he caps on the turn then you are just spewing chips away if you are gonna call him down, i think an argument can be made for folding on the turn, but i would call turn call river
  17. calling 2 cold with a best case scenario of a split pot seems like a bad play to me and i think you are only splitting this pot at most 20% of the time. calling 4 dollars to get a total pot of 13.50 for a profit of 9.50 on the call isn't enough.
  18. raise preflop, raise turn, and that will never happen on the the river, given the way you hadp layed on the previous streets i think you have to fold here
  19. Bets 350 and essentially puts him to a decision for all of his chips. If you get raised you are getting odds to call with the nutflush draw and an inside straight draw and 2 over cards
  20. Do not fold that preflop as previous poster thinks. you are getting 7:1 to make the call preflop (before any of the other 4 limpers even call), suited connectors make for great cards in NL call little raises with them and i would say 2% of your stack is quite minimal. There are so many different ways to play this flop, I would either bet 16ish out on the flop and try to take it down right there, or check raise the bettor from 10 to 30 and make a read on the situation after he has to invest another 20 bucks. Im not a fan of flat calling out of position and if you do take this route I think y
  21. you just call because this is a super satellite 5 of you are going on, you could argue for folding preflop to this raise, pushing in a coinflip is letting that short stack off the hook, make him earn his spot. Theres no reason to build chips right now, just survive
  22. that small blind is pretty short stacked im just calling and seeing the flop then folding
  23. and please change your signature, after purchasing that book i have since hidden it out of embarrasment for me and tj
  24. I dont like this strategy one bit, build the pot so draws have odds to call you? That just doesnt make much sense to me, see it cheap, fold if it doesnt improve, bet raise the whole way if it does. You seem to be playing your PP backwards preflop your other post youy need to 3 bet to isolate the raiser when you have 88 and now you should limp with so many in the pot.
