  1. Not really a fan of the turn check/call. If you're going to do anything other than check/fold I think you should bet. What was your thinking there?Jeff
  2. I think I defend my BB pretty liberally and I'm at 50%, but that includes CO and button steals. I imagine it's higher than that (tho probably only a little) for steals from the SB.It depends greatly on my opponent. If he raises every time, I'm going to look to capitalize on that. If he raises one time out of 20, I'm gonna let him have that one blind.Jeff
  3. That's why it's good to read the board before posting. *sigh*I was in a similar situation and took the pot with 4 high once (started with 44). I still say bet, but that's due to historical bias.Jeff
  4. I third this motion. Vnh.And yeah, I'm calling with QTs all day here.Jeff
  5. Why's that? Personally, I like OPs line better, especially given the read on BB.OP, PF is no good.Jeff
  6. You get called by A-hi a lot on this board. Even by good players. I'm not convinced it's a river bluff, but yes, betting is better than not.Jeff
  7. See, I guess I'm shaky on the logic... it appears to go something like this:"I want very badly to be OOP with a weak hand against the worst player at the table".I agree with your first assessment, Actuary, betting this flop is no good.Absolute, if the guy is too aggressive, how is the turn and river anything but check/call, check/call?Jeff
  8. 2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is BB with [5h], [4s]. UTG posts a blind of $2. UTG (poster) checks, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.Flop: (4 SB) [3c], [2c], [6s] (4 players)SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, CO calls, SB folds.Turn: (3.50 BB) [4h] (3 players)Hero bets, UTG calls, CO raises, Hero calls, UTG calls.River: (9.50 BB) [As] (3 players)Hero bets, UTG calls, CO raises, Hero callsJeffCO = 57/9/1 after 150 ish handsUTG = Poster?! (hehe), so no readOk, I actually think this is the best line for this hand. It felt irrational at the
  9. 4 - 2 = 3, dammit! Er wait...Ok, so actually I agree with you guys on this one... I think the turn is a lot closer to a bet/fold than a bet/call tho, depending on who does the raising.I wanted to check if I was being results-oriented, and apparently I was. I failed to take into account that BB's flop play leaned much more towards him having AK than AA-QQ. Here is the full hand with results.Oh, and no need to say it. I already TP and M 23.50 :)Jeff2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is CO with [Kd], [Ks]. 1 fold, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, BB caps, MP
  10. Hehe, I think like that, too."Hey guys, make this an easy decision for me!"Playing it the same as OP so far...Jeff
  11. You played PF right :)Flop: 3-bet it and call a cap. Turn: 1) Fold the turn UI if flop was capped, otherwise...2) Bet, but I tend to fold if the guy closing the action raises because it's almost always a K.River: Bet.Jeff/Haven't read replies
  12. Nah, we think that about him in Strat, too :)Jeff
  13. BB raises 9% of his hands. He opened capped PF. Sure he played the flop weird, but the Q doesn't give anyone here pause at all?MP also called 3 cold back to him. Nothing? How are all of you reacting to a c/r here on the turn from each villain?Jeff
  14. I hereby revert to Bet-the-pot format until such time as the board stops eating suit icons randomly.2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is CO with [Kd], [Ks]. 1 fold, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, BB caps, MP calls, Hero calls.Flop: (12.50 SB) [7h], [6d], [8d] (3 players)BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets, BB calls, MP calls.Turn: (7.75 BB) [Qc] (3 players)BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks...Discuss. But don't hate the player, playa.Reads:MP: 59/17/1.11 (only 30 hands tho)BB: 57/9/1 150 handsJeff
  15. While PF may be debatably close, it's not what I want to focus on. But to stem the tide of PF replies, here were my thoughts on PF:1) I don't care about fold equity. I'm raising for value.2) We improve by the river 20% of the time to a set or better. I'm getting 4-1 on my raise, so without implied odds and assuming the flop doesn't destroy my hand, that looks about fair to me. 3) I don't think position matters as much with a hand like 99 as it does with, eg, KQs. It's pretty cut and dry when you have the best hand and when you don't And yes, I check/fold to multiple overs on the flop, or
  16. I usually need more info from either PF or the flop to 3-bet the turn with an overpair. For instance, if villain had capped it PF then I would feel very safe 3-betting this turn. Since he didn't and you have no more info on the flop, it's probably time to just call down.JEff
  17. 2/4 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is BB with [9s], [9h]. UTG calls, MP calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP calls, Button calls, SB calls.Flop: (10 SB) [3h], [6h], [8d] (5 players)SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, MP raises, Button folds, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, MP calls, SB calls.Turn: (11 BB) [Qd] (4 players)SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, MP calls, SB calls.River: (14 BB) [4c] (3 players)SB checks, Hero bets...Reads: It was a 100 hand session during lunch yesterday. No reads, but noone at the table impressed me much.
  18. Pretty much what pp24 said.I doubt I'd 3-bet 22-66 tho... coin flips against a maniac usually don't go my way.Jeff
  19. Screech, when are you folding? To the first flop bet or to the 3-bet?Tim, I like the line as long as you fold to the flop 3-bet. Jeff
  20. Party only have one table of 3/6 running that night? Pseudo-lag on your left... leave the table, man. PF is very close. I like that move a lot more actually when it's something like button and sb limping. I think if you raise this PF you need some additional fold equity to enhance the actual equity.Since he has position on you, I agree you should take the lead back on the flop. If you had position on a guy this aggressive, I'd let him hang himself.Jeff
  21. If Button played JTs this way, you need to add him to your list of good post-flop players, IMO.Did CO's LRR given you any pause or was he a typical donkey?Ok, now the hand.PF - Standard. Flop - I'm definitely leading this flop rather than c/r'ing it. I don't really want to blow away the field with my draw. Then I'll decide whether or not to 3-bet when it gets back to me depending on who raised and how many callers there are.Turn: StandardRiver: I check/call one, fold to two. I'll overcall if there is only one caller before me. Pot is awful big, ya know?Jeff
  22. This looks really standard, Tim. What other line were you considering that caused you to question it?Jeff
  23. Ok, fair enough. Good discussion... we'll agree to disagree cuz I'm sure not doing any damn equations on this one :)Jeff
  24. Screech, there is also a decent chance that UTG+1 reraises and we lose a lot of those people now that the entire field faces two cold. We are very likely to lose more than one opponent there. As it happens, we only lost one, but that means the presumed equity of raising the flop the first time and the second is the same.Look at it objectively without knowing the outcome... can you honestly advocate raising the first time around and not the second? We lost exactly one opponent after the first raise. It's still 4-way when it gets back to us and we're even more sure they'll call one more now
