  1. Playing a s'n'g with four players left. I was CL with 4000, two others had 2200 and the final guy had 1800 (all approx. it's not that important). One of the players with 2200 had been disoconnected for a couple of hands so I proceeded to raise whenever it was his BB. The player with 1800 was to the disconnects right and was getting mighty pissed at me stealing. Finally he made a stand against me and reraised me with Ax which I called with my 7-9 and outdrew him. When I knocked him out he starting berating me for not letting him get in to the money instead of the disconnected player. The question
  2. Some guy is already managing 20 tables..........http://temp.dallascbc.com/20_tabling_video.avi
  3. Ok this is how I play big slick in early position. Call. No raising 3xbb just call. If someone raises behind me the option of a re-raise is there depending on the type of player. If no raises I get to see a cheap flop and if I miss it's easy to walk away from.
  4. and someone also pointed out....dont member who.....that they would fold and go allin the next hand with any two cards..........that person....should be smacked....what if the same crap happens again...and you have to fold again, then youre down to 3.5xBB which going allin then will get ZERO legit hands out It was me who said I'd push the next hand and I stand by it. What I said was if no raises I'm going all-in. If I feel I've got two live cards I'm only looking at being a 60/40 dog if called. Thats got to be better than taking a pot shot with this K-Jo crap and not having a clue where you ar
  5. Looks like they made an error by showing a prize stucture for first three. Every satellite tourney I've ever seen is a winner takes all. If the cost of the package is not met the winner takes all the prize pool. Contacting lawyers won't achieve anything, I don't see what they are gonna do about some poker site based in Costa Rica. Especially when there is no governing body to deal with. Accept it and move on.
  6. Calling station as in pre flop just about any two cards are good enough for a call and only a call, even to a raise. Their raise button didn't seem to work at all. Post flop they tended to get a bit trickier by bluffing in any given situation from any position. I do see what you mean by the confliction I just didnt explain myself very well and it's more just loose play than being a CS. Thanks for the imput, much appreciated. I thought about the raise on the flop but decided to see what the turn brought. In hindsight its probably the only place I could have won the pot from.
  7. We have a new contender, playing on Paradise now and I'm in a game with FartGoggles.Don't know what it means but it's making me laugh.
  8. I'm in BB holding 5-2 , MP calls and SB completes. Blinds at 300/600 antes 50 and I hold 3000. MP has 5000 and SB 3150. Both players seem like they registered by mistake thinking it is a NL game. Very loose calling stations and they bluff to much. Flop comes; 2 4 7 SB leads out and bets. I have him on the flush draw and call, MP also calls, which can mean anything from another flush draw to two over cards. Not for a second do I believe they have any part of this flop!Turn; T Not the worse card that could have come out. The SB again leads out, now I'm certain I have him beat. This time I r
  9. I completely understand the merits of pushing here, given stack size, but I don't think you "gotta" push by any means. In this spot, you are likely pushing yourself to the rail. I believe it's better to have an even smaller stack than nothing. Here's why I would fold:The min raise by UTG is suspicious, given his stack size. Looks like he wants action. The re-raise all-in, if made a by a decent player, shows that he knows 2 things: 1) that he's aware that the UTG raise looks strong, and 2) he KNOWS he will get called by UTG. That said, his all-in push looks very strong as well. KJ shrinks up qu
  10. and we have a winner.............. dunno why but this made me laugh the most Honourable mentions to........fToRrEeEsSt2joffFel8mebtch
  11. I'd fold here, chances are you're dominated. The minimum raise indicates some strength as it's just short of 1/3 his stack. I think you're better off taking your chances on the next hand and pushing with any two cards if no raises. The problem is the structure is leaving this a crap shoot. If the average stack only has 12xbb you have to push or fold, calling is not an option for you.
  12. Please, just call me Dude You're welcome, you also may want to check out the poker books page for more info.
  13. Theory of Poker by Sklansky is a must for any poker player IMO. If you haven't read this book get it now. It helped my game 10 fold the first time I read it. Even after the first time I read it I picked up more nuggets on the next couple of reads.A lot of people may respond to this thread saying get super system. While I think it's important to know the concepts in the book, I think it's a bit outdated now. Both are available on Amazon.co.uk so it's not a problem getting hold of either.
  14. I usually start stealing with around 20xbb. I start making moves with any two cards around the 8xbb mark. By any two cards I mean pretty much that. I'm much more likely to move with 4-6o than A-x as the chances are you're not gonna be dominated if recieving a call. The last thing I want to do is push with A-7 only to be called by A-T. At least with with 6-4 I'm only a 60/40 dog, with the A-7 scenario I'm 70/30 dog.
  15. Minimum raises suck big time. In this position if you want to play the hand (not an hand I would make a move with) you gotta push. The result is the same but no tough decisions need to be made. If you feel the table is getting pissed at you stealing take a break and make a move from an unorthadox position, i.e. UTG, UTG+1. It takes balls to do it but is an under-rated move. Even if you make the move with a 7-4o you are better of than with the K-Jo if facing the cowboys or rockets. At a final table the winners are the people who make moves with what most players consider rags. If you want to w
  16. No you don't call, you push all-in. It's costing you 600 per orbit, there's no way you can lay this down. If you're not gonna play this hand what are you hoping for?
  17. I remember seeing a player on Party once called 'GoatsTesticles'. It' always amused me for some reason. Anyone got some good ones? Can you tell I'm at work and bored?
  18. it's under the Misc. Games section. I couldn't get a table to load though, not sure what the problem was.
  19. I don't have a strategy, I just play straight forward, no frills poker. The Party structure doesn't allow for any fancy plays so don't try it. Play only premium hands bet hard and let the other guys knock each other out. Once you get near the bubble loosen up and steal lots of blinds until you have a comfortable stack size . It's really that easy, too many players worry about not making the money and lay down hands they should be calling. Once inside the money aggression rules again. This method gets me in the money around 75% of the time but, as I say, it's very dull.If you are stealing I fin
  20. I don't concentrate enough when I'm not involved in a hand. If I'm playing online I read forums or put on a DVD. In a live game I'm very chatty to the other guys at the table or calling over a waitress for drinks. I realise it's a big weakness with all the information going on, but I just can't bring myself to study the action.
  21. I'd try to fold. I say try because while I know it's the correct move, I still find myself making the same move as you time and time again. It's costing you 1400 per round so you do need to make a move somewhere. It's just probably better to do it OTB or CO.
  22. I'd apply the same if it was suited. Big trouble hand if you're gonna play it out of position. You need to hit the flop in a big way to feel comortable about playing it any further.
  23. Tough decision all round.I think the call is fine, as opposed to the raise, at this stage nothing wrong with wanting to get the SS out and get HU with the other guy. His all in is a strange bet as I would have thought he would want the same thing. I could only assume (without knowing what kind of player he is) that he has high PP. I think I'd fold in this spot and keep around the 200k mark. What did you do? How did you finish?
  24. I'd go with the $50 at Party because at least you get 1k in starting chips. 800 at any lower buy in which pretty much makes it a sit tight for a bit then all fest kind of game. Not much to choose between the $50 and $100 but because of varience the $50 has got to be the right choice.
  25. Golden Palace, Paradise and Party are the ones I play mainly these days. I used to play everywhere. Ladbrokes, Sporting Odds, Pacific, Inter etc. etc. The bonuses attracted me to most sites, when you're playing all the time it's just free money while grinding at your usual site. I still go for the Inter bonus occasionally but I only play other sites now for big multis with a large overlay.
