  1. Just purchased the 3rd issue of Bluff magazine as well and I really enjoyed reading it. Does anybody know if you can get the previous 2 back issues somewhere??ThanksBigSlick
  2. Guess this might be the first time Smash has posted something that was wrong on this forum ( Just playin with ya Smash ) as Chan did not win.Maybe Smash was just trying to throw us off a bit
  3. Did I hear it right, the entry to the tournament was $400,000 to win $1 million ??? was there any other payouts for other places? they never really said ( at least I never heard anything )Fun to watch though, Gus took everyone of em out! BigSlick
  4. Have never seen the tron guy?? What is the reference? As everyone else said I was crying, I was laughing so hard at this kid
  5. Glad you posted what that avatar said because all I could make out was the word "Ninjas" and it was really making me wonder what it said! Too funny
  6. Thanks for the replies and hopefully more people will chime in with their thoughts. Also, I posted some other topics regarding the required bankroll - how to measure success $ per hour won etc..If ya got a few minutes would appreciate your thoughts on these as well.BigSlickP.S - I am not a successful NL player right now Smash but I plan on being one soon ! :-)
  7. Yes I totally understand what you are saying regarding leaving the table. Don't necessarily leave because you are up but if and when you decide to leave that night make sure you are a consistent enough player to be successful overall. Thanks for your reply
  8. I definitely am not at that consistent level, that is for sure. This is something I really want to be able to do well. ( not planning on a travelling poker tour ) just wanna accomplish being a solid player and hopefully making some sort of profit from this after it is all said and done. Thanks for taking time to reply Smash.
  9. I was just reading a post regarding target win rates but it was pertaining to a limit holdem scenario 1xBB to 2.5BBI use PokerCharts to track my statistics online and although it gives quite detailed information, I am not sure what I should be looking at or what levels these stats should be at? Anyone else use this software or similar that is familiar with the statistics that it produces? What is a good win rate $ per hour for this No limit scenario??Thanks as alwaysBigSlickAlso I have gotten confused when it comes to the starting bankroll information that someone should start with as it relate
  10. My biggest problem is knowing when to leave the table. A typical scenario for me at the NL table is :Play and double up my starting cash ( i dont play for alot of cash ) after much up n down moments ( I know that is normal - the swings )Come back later in the evening and play again only to lose my starting cash. Go get some more chips and almost lose it as well then battle back to where I started from also winning my previous loss. This is where my discipline needs some help. Instead of being happy that I was able to battle back and regain my total starting cash + the profit, I usually stay an
  11. I think i got a bit worried that there was 2 pair out there somewhere. I know I totally should have raised a larger amount preflop and it would have probably gotten rid of my pesky J9 counterpart . Frustrating part is that I was waiting for ever to get some decent cards and when I do, I go and screw up the play of them.
  12. Hi everyone Was playing at a NL table and had this hand that ended my stay at the table. I honestly know I screwed this up, just wanna make sure I am on the same page as you kind folks. 13. If a man with no arms walks into a bank with a gun, is he considered armed????S. Wright
  14. Mine was "The Jester"pretty funny stuff!
  15. wanted to see the flop - it was early in the tournament. I really think the only "mistake" I made was to not bet after the flop. If I bet on the flop he has pocket 10's and has two aces on the board. I put out a big bet , he folds and the pot would have been mine. Like I said I was on the button and it was very early in the tournament and sometimes I like to take chances and take a peek at a flop. Thanks again for the inputBigSlick
  16. just my two cents but isn't this the exact type of postings that Daniel was referring to about putting each other down etc........ Agree to disagree and move on with your lives. These posts seem to turn into a pissing match more and more and I am really getting bored with reading them. It is too bad because I read this forum everyday. ( the page is my homepage ) and I think I speak for alot of people here when I say that these kind of posts are getting OLD quickor in the words of Kramer --- played ............. sooooo played!
  17. I actually don't have the hand but thanks for taking the time to reply.
  18. The truth hurts some times - hahaha Thanks for your advice on this. I understand what you are saying and I appreciate your help.
  19. You have 4 clubs to the flush on the board and you have a very low club in your hand ( I believe it was the 5 of clubs ) There are two other people that call it down to the end ( A flush is going to win the pot ) Do you take this type of hand all the way down to the river in this situation. I am not sure if more information is needed but I ended up throwing it away because I figured at least one of them would have the higher flush - One ended up having a high pocket pair ( no flush ) and the other ended up having a flush as well ( lower than mine ) and took the pot ---- Not good hahahahaSho
  20. Hi there I was just wondering if people could give me some of their thoughts regarding this hand :This hand took place during a multi-table tourny at the very early going.Should I have made a large bet after the flop? ( all- in maybe )??? Should the raise have been larger to drive him out of the pot? I know I slow played this hand way too much and it cost me but I was just wondering how others would have played the hand. 21. I am very glad that Daniel has posted his feelings on this issue. I really believe that things have started getting nasty with some of the remarks made during recent posts. I strongly believe that comments like these hurt the overall forum because people ( especially newer players ) will be less likely to post on the forum do the the nature of some of the comments. Although Smash has made some comments I don't particularly think were appropriate at times, I really think that it is wrong to turn this forum into the "Hate Smash" fanclub. He definitely isn't the only one that has made these ina
  22. My head hurts after reading this post! Got an advil? or know where my high school math teacher is??
  23. Not a game of skill ?? Are you sure about that Frank??
  24. Just wondering what kind of time everyone is devoting to playing online. Whether you play online "fulltime" or "parttime" ?BigSlick
