  1. gl harry! I wish you the best of luck. I've read some of your posts here before and really respect you as a person.gl!
  2. I'd have to watch you to tell you where you're going wrong. Who knows, you're prolly playing too tight as blinds get higher.what $$$ buy inspeed, limit, pl, nl sngs?I've been watching my friend crush the $11 speed sngs on PartyPoker. after 100 sngs, he has 50% roi lol, he 6 tables as well
  3. If you really want to teach him poker, have him play limit.Otherwise, I like SnG's as a lesson. It's the best way to learn NL imo because you'll have to deal with a lot of pressure ALL IN situations. And if you lose, it's only 5 bucks, instead of a $100
  4. I would've raised that preflop and hope to take down the extra 300 in the middle.CALL!!!! There's only 650 and he pushed all in, it's pretty safe to say he doesn't have the nut flush at the moment. I say he's defending something. You got outs and you got a great hand, call!
  5. so if someone calls your flop continuation bet and still checks to you on the turn, will you bet it the majority of the time?
  6. afraid of him slowplaying incase he has something strong

  8. For you anti-virus expertshow good is windows defender? I've been using that instead of adaware and spybot simply because it's been catching problems that the other two programs have missed. In fact, this is the only anti-spyware/virus software I've been using for awhile and have never noticed any issues.Course, I am going to run another scanner with all these issues going on, but I was hoping someone could tell me if Windows Defender is actually as good as I believe it is (or if it's just crap)
  9. yeah, i hit a 4 on the river lol. Truthfully, when I pushed, I also thought I had 15 outs then I realized I was drawing to a flush and a gutshot, not to a double belly buster, haha...i got lucky ^^um...so would this be a great way to play Aces or Kings? lol
  10. so my question is, at these stakes, is it worth trying to push people off a lone pair of aces? Or rather just take a shot at the flop and hope to get 2pair by the river?and why not semi-bluff on the turn w/the nut draw? 12 outs to win
  11. is it worth the risk of them calling you down with just a pair?
  12. meh, that was one of the reasons why I wanted to only share my blog with just my friends but I figure, if someone really wants to be immature about it, so be it. There's more important things to stress about, such as losing to a 1 outer But thank you for the advice :)and to everyone else, if you're annoyed I made a new topic...sorry ^^
  13. lol, in the other post I said that when I was playing on FTP, I only pushed all in w/sets or higher, but really, I don't think they paid attention since I kept getting callers.
  14. Hey all,I've been a poster here for awhile. This is the only poker forums that I post in pretty much because I like a lot of the guys here and I really respect some of their poker play.Enough sucking up,I'd like to share with you my blog that I've been writing in.mikeysong.blogspot.comSo far I've only showed my friends but one of my friends told me I should post it on here and after some thought, I've decided I will share!a little background info:My name is Michael Song and I'm currently a college student majoring in film. 16. That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I really wanted to see the turn. If it was a bad card for him, I figured it'd be the perfect opportunity to push him off the hand, ESPECIALLY if it was a low diamond.
  17. My table image here, although I'm pretty sure no one on full tilt pays attention at the .50/1 level, is that everytime I've pushed, I've had a set or higher. I figured by pushing the turn, I've got 12 outs to save me, but I really thought he'd fold as well.Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.50/$18 playersConverterStack sizes:UTG: $74.95UTG+1: $134.60MP1: $96.25MP2: $85.25Hero: $105.10Button: $124.50SB: $95BB: $96Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is CO with 4 folds, Hero raises to $3, Button raises to $5, SB folds, BB calls, Hero calls.Flop: ($15.5, 3 players)BB checks, Hero checks,
  18. I'd check, I think if you bet here too many people would think that you're just making a play. Hope the button checks, if turn misses and everyone checks, I'd bet it.
  19. i really like the play because it's 3 handed. What i like about this play is that it gives you an image that says "if you want to run me over, you're going to have to risk half your chipstack."you knew he was going to bet right? Otherwise I would've 500 and if he goes in, immediately call.
  20. with 5 other players in there, I'd have to let it goextremely passive table yet he check raised you on the turn when a flush draw came right? At least in my area, the people who play in the tourneys tend to be pretty bad and won't check raise with nothing. You pretty much have to put him on a set or 8,7 for the straight.Look at the way he played it. You bet, he calls, you bet the turn and he raises - I just can't see JQ here. I'd be more inclined to see JQ if he raised the flop in hopes to see turn and river. I think he's got a strong hand and i'd be way surprised if he check-raised you w/a
  21. This is a question i'm struggling withLet's say you raise the river because you're fairly confident your two pair is good, and he immediately pushes all in? Is this a situation where you would most definitely call?situation 2:you re-raise the turn and he pushes, would you call here?
  22. I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't add on to other posts becauase i'm pretty new to the NL cash game. I'd rather not post suggestions if I'm unsure. If you look at my earlier posts, I did help out in the tournament section. I posted there because I'm very confident in my tournament game. What's wrong with hypothetical? Best way to learn is by asking questions no?and when you say think for yourself - I'd rather not develop bad habits. How can I know that pushing here or raising here is the best play? I definitely won't be able to count the # of times I'm in that situation where I made a ce
  23. another questionat this level, or any other no limit level, what mindset do you try to adopt?Win a big pot an hour? (doubling up) or trying to chop away and take down small pots w/ur pairs? I realized that even by just chopping away at small pots, if u're successful doing that at 4 tabling, it adds up nicely
  24. Hey all, I just have some questions regarding NL Cash games and would love to hear your input on themBtw, the questions I'm asking are hands that I've seen playing from .50/1NL, incase that influences your opinions a littleBlinds .50/1, assume everyone has $100 stack. Villain is Semi-LAGSituation 1:utg raises to $3, you call from mp3 with 66, and the button calls. Flop is5Clubs, J spades and 6 Clubs, utg bets $8 - do you raise big like $20 here or do you immediately push hoping that he might call with big pocket pair?Situation 2:You raise preflop 3.5 from mp2 and CO calls. You have TPTK on
