  1. Get well soon and don't rush any comebacks. The tables will be ready when you are. Take care.Ed
  2. One drink ain't enough Jack, you better make it three ....
  3. One thing I've noticed is that people tend to bet and raise and then pay no attention to what's going on (more so than usual, anyway) if they have pocket Aces in live games. They don't care what happens on the flop, they don't care what other players do, and they make it pretty obvious that they have a big hand and have no concept that, yes, they might actually lose the hand at the end.
  4. I'd probably buy one of the jackets. ... he should put them on eBay, or make them prizes for the pokermountain QuickStart tourneys.
  5. So ... did Tropical Henry get rivered by a gutshot tonight, or what? I liked this episode tonight very much. The third one was good, as well. 1, 2, and 4 needed some work. I guess I haven't looked at it as being about poker. I haven't tuned in expecting to see poker. I just like it as a show. Good conflicts, couple good twists and Matador's daughter is easy on the eyes.
  6. I knew I had read these too much tonight during my microlimit session on Stars when, with 7-5 off UTG, I folded with a rhyme, "Look, it's 7-5! Them cards is no longer live."Between studying my own hand histories and seeing these every night, the education has been enormous.By the way Smash, I can't explain the 1900-something hand cutoff for the statistics you got, but you've definitely played more than that during this deal. I've played 2414 in the last week alone and I'm sure you play more hands per week than me.
  7. Congrats on your wins. Making the money in any MTT is difficult and you should enjoy every cash, regardless the amount. I know, I'm still waiting to cash in anything bigger than an 18-player SNG (won one of those at least)
  8. I think all of those special features start on Saturday.
  9. Theresa, did you read what I posted?I don't doubt the incident Theresa mentioned occurredYou shared your experience, I shared mine. I've never seen or heard of anything of that sort happening when I've been there.
  10. Well, I didn't say set for what.
  11. You had nothing. Cough away the 135, fold and move on.
  12. I found a penny on Monday. Do that 300 more times and I'm set.
  13. Is this true?Do you want me to post a picture of the hat?Note: I went into Party last night and played a 5+1 SNG. Won that. Finished 6th in one today (great play by the person who knocked me out, nothing but respect), so I'm up to $63.
  14. Open up a Party Poker account. Deposit a little bit of money ($50, $75, whatever). Play some sit-n-gos, play some limit, play some no - limit, whatever you want to do. Play very tight, don't risk much, you win great, you lose, whatever. Then don't go back. Leave your account open and withdraw your money, except for a quarter or so. And don't go back. Play elsewhere. Play with your friends. Play in the street. Don't go back.A box will arrive at your door one day. It will have a Party Poker hat, a letter from Mike Sexton and $50 will be in your account. Then use that money to start building your
  15. Played 2-4 in AC 2 weekends ago and the situation actually arose once. Raised it with 10-4 off, BB called. Flop came 7-7-8, bet out, BB folded. But yeah, at low limits, it won't happen often.
  16. I guess the part I don't understand here despite everyone's good work on the subject (seriously, not meant in a sarcastic way) ... I don't understand why the call comes in the first place. If it's folded all the way around to you in the small blind, and it's heads up, why do anything other than raise or fold? If you have a hand worth playing, raise it heads up. The reason why you don't just call there is because then you don't put yourself in the situation it's taken 100 posts here to try and flush out. Raise and make the BB make a decision. If you are going to play anyway, take the aggressive r
  17. 1) I like making money.2) I like the challenge of a game. Any game. Poker, video games, APBA baseball, Strat, whatever.3) My entire family and all my friends know I play poker a good bit. It's either OK with them or it's not, they know it's a part of my life and everyone's seems fine with it.4) OH, and would the last one to post in this thread please let LeedsPokerGuru out of that box? Thanks.
  18. I have been to AC numerous times and am going back this Saturday (although, with beloved Sheffield United playing Arsenal on TV Saturday morning, that may change my departure time), anyway ... the last time I played in the Trop's Saturday tournament, it was $50+15 with rebuys for the first hour and an addon at the end of the hour. I must admit I do not remember the starting chip count that you got. The blinds went up really quick, there is a break after every 3 levels (20 minutes each). I played decently well, had a nice stack between that and the addon, yet felt the blinds were too restrictin
  19. Doubtful. I mean, you're up, at least. Some of us can't say that yet.Although, with the 97 cents I cleared yesterday between sessions, I'm quicklyl on the road to ultimate glory! 8)
  20. I would. You had to play to earn it after all, and once you've earned it, you can cash it out or use it in your roll just like you would if you would have won it in a hand.
  21. I just happened to put together my stats for the year last night with the end of another week:Casino play: +$46. Home game play: -$52. (Total $-6).Online play: -$33.58. (All attributed to poor tourney finishes)Total: Down $39.58 for the year so far.
  22. Well, I'm not sure Mike had access to a computer for a while.http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/pokerblog/arc...ives/000220.php
  23. I've heard good things about NetTeller, but it's use is banned for residents of Maryland, so I use FirePay instead and would highly recommend it. Deposits are immediate from your bank account to the FirePay account, and then immediate from your FirePay account to the poker site that you choose. If you are on a site that doesn't take FirePay, find another poker site.
