Congrats Daniel. Patience, hard work and focus pays off. And sleep!Too bad we couldn't watch the final table from Toronto
-
Out 28th in an absolutely horrific Stud beat for a top 3 stack.I'm killing the MSOP (cashed in 7 of 12 events I've played, and 11 of the past 19 tourneys I've played on Full Tilt), but keep getting unlucky late when the real money arrives -- I've gone out in 4 events in the final 3-4 tables, always on a bad beat, in the $100 PL, the $10 NLH tourney with 5120 entrants and a massive prize pool, the O8, and now the HORSE.. and for good measure I final table bubbled at least one rebuy I was playing at the same time. Bah.

As played, agree with check/fold. Sure it's possible he called on flop to bluff, but in a limped multiway flop he could easily have you crushed and you don't have much invested. Just move on and wait for a better spot. Would have raised pref for sure though.

Out - oh well, 2 for 2 in mini-WSOP cashes at least.Gl Tanner and anyone still in.
-
...or not. Saw that KQ vs AK hand, tough one
-
14k at 3rd break - going backwards
-
Bah, lost 6k with KK vs AT and QQ vs KQ. The play has been "freeroll-bad" at my table, especially compared to the $100 PL yesterday. Still in good shape with 15,477 at break.

23,000 in chips, 5th/2800Kept playing hands against weak player who overplayed hands, finally caught him and jumped up a ton. Otherwise no big hands so far but nothing goofy either.

That's Guy Laliberte though, billionaire, so he just paid to try to learn and play with the best. If HORSE results were included, he'd probably be down $10,000,000. Man, Gus Hansen is just a degenerate - lost another $326,000 yesterday. Durr was actually big loser for the day, down $340,000. You have to be so mentally tough to deal with those daily swings and not eventually explode.

**fcp Official Full Tilt Msop Pool Thread**
Desslock replied to Vtlaxer09's topic in General Poker Forum
I cashed, but went out 33rd. Great idea of Full Tilt's though - I don't play over there very much, and I'll probably play almost every day this month. I also wish this contest wasn't just NL events, but cool that someone organized it and gl to all involved. -
Out in 179th with JJ to AQ, meh.Nice run in the $3r
-
Still in, 4th break. Middle of pack, 227 left. Such a goofy crapshoot tourney - it's so lucrative that I can't resist playing, but seeing horrific play constantly rewarded just makes me angry. Plus people play so slow that we're barely getting 9 hands/level.
-
This crazy prize pool attracts a lot of higher limit players
-
What is it?I went pretty deep in this one - out around 150. Just a crazy crapshoot after the first few levels though. I never got my money in bad, and won 9 of the 14 times I was allin, which I guess is running decently.
-
Great game. Was $800 really your biggest cash at Stars before? If so, extra congrats on the score.
-
out 735th. Same retard who managed to pick up set over set against me picked up AA when I had AK on a K high flop. Even more ridiculous, the joker still managed to go out 727th before I'd even closed the table, blowing off 9000 in chips in 2 hands calling down with underpairs.
-
crippled by set over set against the worst player at the table. 1500 and fumes at 3rd break.
-
5500 second break. Lost a big hand just before the break.
-
I generally play microdonk stuff and suck at closing, so my biggest cashes are also non-wins -- I have a few final tables in big $20 and $3 rebuys for cashes of $1250-$800 or so. Biggest actual "wins":I've won a couple $20 180 persons at Stars for $1080 (sadly before sharkscope or OPR tracked 'em, but can request tourney histories from Stars to prove it!)A $20 pot limit holdem MTT at stars for $600.A $10 180 for $540

Looks Like Stein Is Getting A Seat In Wsop
Desslock replied to lunarphase's topic in General Poker Forum
Yeah, those guys at The__D__Ry's table really got the short straw - once he got up over 80k he just raised enough to put anyone allin every hand -- it was impossible to not be blinded out unless you took a stand. Man, that must have sucked for the AA dude, who took a stand before he was desperate and got burned. I bubbled out of one of those last year with AA to J3o, so I know the feeling, heh. -
Hachem Playing In The Wpt Event -- Effect On The Lawsuit?
Desslock replied to Desslock's topic in General Poker Forum
thanks for the link -- it doesn't seem clear from his statement that he actually dropped out of the lawsuit, although perhaps that's a necessary implication. Oh well, good for him. -
Pretty surprising that Hachem is playing in the WPT event, since he's one of the plaintiffs suing the the WPT in that inane lawsuit -- did he drop out as a plaintiff in the lawsuit? Obviously he must have signed the 'offensive' WPT release in order to participate in the tourney -- anyone read/hear any reaction?

Jesus, out 1800th after usual brutal beat -- I can't STAND going out when I have an above average stack, because I hate risking that many chips. 'Had about 7000 in chips and was rolling, pick up AA in the big blind. Late position raises to 450. I reraise to 1200, he pushes allin for 9000 - instacall, he has QQ - Q on the river, GG. So brutal, I'd have been on the leaderboard. This one hurts a lot more than the normal bad beat.
-
No, it's an absolutely standard prohibition in multitable tournaments, to prevent collusion. The heads-up tourney wasn't subject to that rule because there were no other players at that table, other than the two in the hand. Similarly, the reason it's usually o.k. to do it in a cash game is that other players are not directly impacted by whatever happens between you and your opponent -- in a multitable tournament, other players are always impacted by the results of every hand, so it's always prohibited.

Wsop Main Event Final Table On Pay Per View!
Desslock replied to Knight_Owl's topic in General Poker Forum
Really looking forward to this -- watched the 2002 World Series final table under similar circumstances (produced by the pokerpages guys) and I really enjoyed it. Not seeing the hole cards doesn't take away as much as you might otherwise think -- and it's compensated by the fact that you get to see the entire final table, not just selected hands - and the chatter between the players, psychological games, etc.
