Essay's Top 25 Rewatchable Movies of the 21st Century
SuitedAces21 replied to SuitedAces21's topic in General
when i rewatched the trilogy about a month ago during this year's snowstorm i was just blown away by the two towers. its just an amazing movie. -
i have a futures bet on michigan at plus 475, but right now the favorite has to be duke. i'd be surprised if the winner wasnt one of duke, michigan, arizona or florida. they seem to rise to a class above the rest this year.

i called in sick today boys. sick of working that is. i just couldnt bring myself to stare at that computer all day, so i'm staring at my other one. i am watching HOUSE OF THE DRAGON though. it is painfully serious which is tough to take after watching ser dunk and egg, but its okay i guess.

we got a BIG kendrick lamar fan here, is what i take from that. LOTR is the only one of those that would make my list. i really wanted to like the new dune movies but i just didnt get into it, for whatever reason. i havent even seen the second one yet. im sure i will at some point though. -
napa was a man of good taste so i would have no doubt. i hope he's still alive out there, doing his spreadsheets and just making shit happen. with brvy having passed away i'm sure nap took that hard. if they really did know each other in real life all those years ago. nap if you see this let us know when brvy died.

i liked it, leo was really good. and sean penn was great too. my main issue with the film is teyanna taylor can't act. she was awful in this and she was shit in the new ben afflek and matt damon movie - the rip - which was great otheriwse, exactly my kind of movie. cast a good actress in her place and we are much better off in both films.

in a shocking twist, i watched A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS and damn if it didnt suck me right back in. it was really, really good. i watched them all in a row becuase i couldnt wait to see what was next. i didnt know anything about it going in, which was much better.

i hope OP has come to his senses and stopped living in sin. -
in honor of robert duvall i watched TENDER MERCIES. i'm not sure i had heard of it before he died and didnt realize its what won him his oscar. he was very good and i enjoyed it and i enjoyed the world of small town texas in 1983, such a simple time.

i havent been to a movie theater since 2019, and i believe that was for mission impossible fallout. going to the movies was always about seeing it with someone, so that's been out for a long time. i did watch the new running man with my mom on paramount plus. i liked it. i think it was pretty much exactly how i feel about glenn powell himself, everthing was there to make a great movie it was just slightly off. same way he should be a massive action star and he just isnt yet, but i can't figure out why. still enjoyed it though.

i'm much to shallow a person to watch a movie like sentimental value. i just watched the trailer and it looks painfully boring to me. last night i watched 'no way out' with gene hackman and kevin costner. solid little flick, but much more my level. if you've seen it i thought they rushed the ending, needed a few more scenes. i generally don't watch 'horror' or 'horror adjacent' films, so i havent seen sinners. but i will probably watch it at some point give the talk. only reason i havent seen F1 is it hasnt been on any of the 5 streaming services i have and i won't pay beyond that

that's awesome man, congrats on making it 15 good years. your media consumption is insane, those are hall of fame numbers you're putting up. i assume you know all the oscar nominated movies too, what should win? i think of the nominees i only saw one battle after another, but i can't imagine even if i had i would think any of the others should even stand a chance.
