DanielNegreanu 141
Last year's 3rd place finisher in Survivor Tuesday, Shortstackers, has been eliminated leaving 17 teams and just one more Saturday game before we go back to straight Tuesday night games. In Champions League action The Big M's and Canadian Gothic top division A at 3-1 while the PK Dealers start the season at 0-4. That's a lot of ground to make up early in a 21 game season so the team is close to being in must win situations already. Winning Combination sits alone at the top of division B with a 3-1 record and similar to the PK Dealers in Division A, Shoot Loose is in big trouble after an 0-4 start. The top scoring team in either division is the upstart Swackers making their debut in Champions League action. They have posted 14.5 in 4 games but have a 2-2 record. Our first tie of the season in either division happened last night between the Screamin' Eagles and Ingmen, 1-1 with both Daniel Sedin and Alexander Ovechkin registering a point. Ovechkin scored a goal, but there are no shootout rules in the Champions League regular season.

FCP Bob 1,312
Putting this up not as a brag but to illustrate that good AHL teams don't average really high scores and that the worst teams so far this year are averaging more points than last year. Last season's Points Per Game For Each Team Team The Big M's 3.207 PK Dealers 2.311 Canadian Gothic 2.299 Puck Warfare 2.171 Steelheads 2.037 Mustangs 2.012 Shortstackers 1.976 Whalers 1.902 Broadway 1.811 Cheap Thieves 1.799 Scarborough Shooters 1.677 Swackers 1.646 Ingmen 1.628 Screamin' Eagles 1.427 Winning Combination 1.280 Shoot Loose 1.195 Red Ravens 0.683 The Underdogs 0.451 Greaseballs 0.433 Magically Delicious 0.323

However the comment, "good AHL teams don't average really high scores and that the worst teams so far this year are averaging more points than last year" , I have no clue purely for informational purposes The worst AHL teams are scoring more this year than the worst teams did last year, sure it's early and sample size but it's true and the reality is that a team that averages 2 points per game is a good team and I think we sometimes don't think that 2 is that good of a score. DanielNegreanu 141
Ingmen couldn't survive and is out in 17th place which is an uptick from last year where they finished dead last! 16 teams remain and we have our last non-Tuesday game coming up this Saturday. In Division A action Mustangs continue to get unlucky as they posted a 4 spot but still lost to the division leading Big M's 5-4. Mustangs, M's, and Swackers are all tied for the league lead in +/- PK Dealers are officially in trouble just 5 games into the season. An 0-5 record has them 4 points back of a wildcard spot. If they can't turn it around soon this season will be wasted. In Division B Shoot Loose broke their 4 game losing streak, while we had our first OT loss of the season. Claude Giroux got an assist for Swackers while Brad Marchand couldn't get anything going for Winning Combination. Despite the OT loss Winning Combination is out to an early lead in the division with 7 points.
