Be aggressive out of the gate. You need to build a pretty healthy stack since this is a fast set up. You can't just sit there and wait for hands. So yeah pretty much be aggressive, play position and have fun.

Get chips quick. Put max pressure on your opponents and gamble gamble a little bit and hope luck is on your side this time. Only way you can do well in that structure. GL

#1. Don't play this tourney, because its just a turbo donk-a-thon. The blinds start high and go up too fast in relation to chip amounts.#2. Play Cash instead :club:

Have a home game. You don't have to pay a rake and you set the tourney levels and blinds.

yeah, that tourney is retarded. worst tournament structure i've ever played in:25 starting chips.starting blinds 4/8. 12 to open. 10 minute levels. not sure how i was suckered into playing that craps table of a tournament...needless to say i played one hand and was out in 3 minutes.

ditto.I played a similar style tourney at a local pool near my house and never did very well. It's only going to ruin your confidence.Start up a bankroll, and play cash games. There are usually plenty of places that host $1-$2 live games, at least in Connecticut, where I live. In these games you can buy in deeper, and play more real poker.Too many places nowadays have these crapshoot style tournaments that require a bigger bankroll and different skills than real poker to succeed in.

This really doesn't sound so awful to me. But then the SNGs I played at Canterbury (the only casino I've played at) were much worse in terms of stacks (t300, starting blinds t10/15), though the levels were 15 min. instead of 12. Here you actually get to start in the Green Zone instead of low in the Yellow, so I'd be glad to have this structure available near me if the vig isn't too bad (how much is it, btw?).

He's in Puget Sound and thus his only real cash options are 3/6 and 4/8 limit. The Tribal casinos offer a bit more but he'd have to be 21, and really, 3/6 is as low as limits go.Some of the tourneys around town have slightly better formats, but really, even the best require you to play fast and hoover chips to stand any sort of chance past 90 minutes. I can count on my left hand the number of places in Puget Sound that even do a tourney with blind levels longer than 15 minutes, and none of them are cheap.
