Low Limit Live Omaha 8/b

Recommended Posts

I will be going to vegas for spring break and was wondering does anybody have any names of some casinos that spread Low Limit Omaha 8/b cash or tournament.I have seen a few 40 buy in tournies at The Orleans, and the Texas Station.I've also heard of some 4-8 8/b spread at a few casinos on the strip but I don't know their names.Anybody knows of a place that spreads 1-2 or 2-4 cash game or any more tourneys that are 80 and under? Or just list some casinos that spread the game, any limits.

it's been a while since i've been to vegas, but the games i know of out there are:20/40 1/2 kill, bellagio: SUPER soft, just make sure you don't miss out on value and you'll make millions.10/20 1/2 kill, wynn: SUPER soft--there were guys capping blind pre and postflop last time i played.5/10 full kill, mirage: usually soft, but i actually found the best o8 players i've ever played against one of the nights i was there.3/6 mixed game, treasure island: haven't played it, but i know it exists6/12 mixed game, venitian: only played for like an hour before the game broke, but the players were pretty rocky in all games (o8, stud8, badugi, 2-7)other than that, i haven't seen or heard of o8 in vegas. i'm sure it's around lots of places, but i've listed the only places i've played/heard of.there's a problem with o8 live, though--people are so retarded that they can't figure out their hands (neither can the dealers in one live low situations, usually, lol) and you only end up seeing about 15-20 hands an hour, which can get super frustrating. i far preferred playing mixed games when i was there.have a great time!

Last time i went to vegas the Wynn was always running 10-20 with a half kill and the bellagio alwys gets a list started in the morning for 5-10 with a full kill. I have heard of how terrible people are at the venetian and mriages mixed games. After reading the post above, it reminds me of when i was playing omaha in detroit and a guy tables his cards and said i play the board, priceless moment, i had to order a drinka fter hearing that. Worse comes to worse, just ask a pit boss, almost all poker room managers know where certain games are being spread

hey yall. I'm bumping this. Are these lists still accurate? And what day of the week? The game I'm used to in Detroit only happened twice a week (Wed/Sat) and kind of a mix bag of players on Saturadays, pretty identical on Wednesdays. And inform me on the Treasure Island mixed game. what games do they play? still 3/6 or other limits?

I just got back from Vegas a few days ago. There was nothing at the Venetian when we checked for a game there and the Wynn had a 10/20 with 1/2 kill one day we checked and on another day had the same game plus a 20/40 with half kill. However, if you want low limit against players who will gladly pay you because they aren't sure what they are doing, the Orleans always has a 4/8 with half kill going. If your patience is of high levels against horrible players, this is the profitable game for anyone who knows how to play the game.

qfmft. I only sat in the game for a few hours last week and it's deathly s l o w but if you can manage to stay awake, you'll make a pile of money. Be patient and wait for your hand. DO NOT SLOWPLAY. The concept is lost on 95% of the players. People will call you down with the 3rd nut low and a high pair. It's a joke.

Guys, thanks for the reply. Addagirl, do you remember what day of the week and times you checked? My experience of live Omaha H/L had about 50% retired age, and 90% in their 40's and above. Which meant they are up hella early, the list gets going around 7am, game starts around 10am. Which meant for me being the night owl, sleep 8pm til 4am or stay up all night the night before and go from there... (latter being much more frequent) Not the best conditions, but it was a great source of experience, and nice income. But this is Vegas, which never sleeps anyways, so does the game continue with shuffling faces? I guess if the Wynn had 2 simultaneous games going, there should be enough players to play at least a full table...?

I've been itching for some limit action. I got transferred from Chicago to D.C., and closest poker for me is probably Atlantic City, so I haven't bothered. I have a steady job though, so my "bankroll" will allow me a little higher limits than usual. 20-40 half kill seems about right. Not that I had an option besides 5-10 FK in Detroit or Chicago.About slowplaying... I had noticed it during my 5/10FK live play. I don't play much online, so I'm used to the pace. And the pace of conversation... Good thing it's a rake out of the pot rather than every half hour huh? Most Holdem players bring their hold em standards to Omaha and yum yum. Raise their 2 pair against my made flush? Love it... But a pretty likely occurance slowplaying:3 callers before me when I'm on the button. Look down at AA45 ds on the button, I raise but 3+both blinds call.AAJ flop. (6 big bets in pot)Checks all around, I checked as well, so I made my mistake here.2 on turn, made flush draw I thinkChecks to me, I bet, and I get 3! callers. (10BB)7 on river.Checked to me, I bet, get 2 callers. (13BB)got squeaked for the low by the Big blind playing 3568. Why did he call a raise with that? Don't ask me, ask the guy taking away half my money. Yes, I ended up with 1/2 a big bet more, but with tip and rake, I pretty much broke even. What I should have done, was make them pay to stay. 234 staying I would understand but they'll be playing for 1/2 of the pot and runner runner low is something like 30% probability? so he needs 6.5 to 1 to break even? And have guys not believing me drawing to a broadway or King high(nut) flush) drawing dead, except for the royal of course, but the bad beat jackpot wouldn't be a bad consolation...What I noticed about most bad live O8 players is that they don't go home curious. Usually broke, but they payed off at every chance. And they'll draw to a straight flush more than you expect. Not just wheel/broadway straight flushes, but middle cards too, because they "had a feeling".But I digress.bdc30, where was your game, what were the limits, and how was the competition? With your "pile of money" result it sounds like it was realtively soft. Did the table break or were you forced to leave by other circumstances?Just a parting thought, I haven't been able to access this site for a while, but now I can. I'll post some tricky situational hands that I'd like to discuss in the near future.talk to you all soon.

Tis true!!! iwantitall, bdc30 and I are speaking merely of the Orleans 4/8 game. An example of one hand that stands out in my mind...I had A21010. Flop was 10 3 6. Turn was another 3. It was capped between myself and one other lady. The river was another low card giving me nut low as well as my boat. Capped again. Lady mucked. As I was scooping my pile of chips, she said she had "flopped nut boat" implying that I turned her. Flopped nut boat. When the flop was 10 3 6. And that, my dear O8 friend, is the level of quality players at the Orleans 4/8 game! I can give more examples if needed lolSince I am also a night owl, most of the games I played were in early evening to late night (mid morning). The game was still predominantly older gentlemen. There was a sprinkling of younger people (45 and under - I, being 42 was one of the young ones! lol) but thats it at any time of day at any casino. Most young'ins are not at an Omaha table.
