Just to start i wanted to let people know im not a complainer over a beat or 2, i know they happen. I don't freak out when losing with my AK vs AQ, but in the last 3 months i have litterally been less than 20% in coin flips, and whe i do turn up AK vs AQ my luck has been so bad i feel like im only 20% to win anyways. I have played online tournements where i have played perfectly i think. I lost 4 or 5 straight races and i still get down towards the end of the tournements. But then i get someone all in in "perfect situations" but with me i feel like there are none. I never feel like a favorite even all in with AA. Is there anything i can do differently to change my luck around? Or do i have to just keep playing like i have and waiting out the storm? I'm just not sure my bankroll can handle another 3-6 months like ive been enduring. This isnt just a complaining hypothetical, i would really like answers, should i just never get all in pre flop, when it gets raised up and i have KK should i not push back for fear of the A3 that always beats me?

Wait out the storm. If your bankroll gets low then move down to lower limits.Similar things have been happening to me recently. I've been taking disgusting beats over and over and over. However, I know if I'm getting my money in good I'm playing better poker than the other guy, so I should not feel bad. I know the money will come back to me. At least thats what we're supposed to think.

That fear can be a good thing. You should have a sense of cation when you see A3 when you have kings because the opponent has outs to beat you. About you're luck; I'm pretty positive this is just a downswing like usual.I havn't played in a while like 3 weeks and the first time back to the casino my aces and kings get cracked back to back w/ rivered bd straights. I was pretty distraught but a month ago I won a 550 dollar pot w/ QQ's against KK's so you gotta give or take a little in the luck department.Luck - the force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person's life, as in shaping circumstances, events, or opportunitiesCan you control luck? Can you control the cards? No. You can make your own opportunities and shape your own circumstances by hand selection, position, betting style, and many other factors in poker that shape our dicisions.Think about it :club:

Man, it's to the point I almost would rather NOT get aces as bad as that sounds.I feel like a favorite when I've got J 10 suited vs aces or kings...ugh...I love to hate poker. It's all about long term results and not being results minded on any particular hand. Get your money in ahead and, in the long term, you will be a winning player...or so they say... :club:

I was getting killed last month as a big favourite in every big pot i as playing in NL. i was loosing 1k pots left and right with sets, straights u name it. All i can say is keep playing well and hopefully the odds will turn back to your favor in the near future. Keep your head up man!

We choose to be poker players. There is an element of luck to poker, no matter how good we are. If we can't handle losing with the best starting hand or running into a bad streak then I suggest going to school and studying really hard and getting a good job, so you can get a good consistant paycheck every week. No bad beats there.

:club: You must not have a "real" job!!Never got passed over for a promotion you clearly deserved because you didn't kiss your bosses *** as thoroughly as the other guy, or because you do/don't have breasts?Bad beats are a part of lifeI wholeheartedly agree with the rest of your post

Just gotta wait it out and keep playing. I've taken some of the worst beats this past week, dropping like $200 in buy-ins then yesterday I finally was winning races having my good hands hold. May take a while, especially when you play against lots of bad players in the lower limits, but as long as you're consistantly getting your money in good, there's nothing you can do but keep playing, don't stop because others are getting lucky. Remember that if you're making the correct decision every time, you're going to be better off in the long run. Good luck!
